tests: redo test argv file line wrapping Back in commit bd6c46fa0cfe275c24debc1152cfc5206c04b59b Author: Juerg Haefliger <juerg.haefliger@hp.com> Date: Mon Jan 31 06:42:57 2011 -0500 tests: handle backspace-newline pairs in test input files all the test argv files were line wrapped so that the args were less than 80 characters. The way the line wrapping was done turns out to be quite undesirable, because it often leaves multiple parameters on the same line. If we later need to add or remove individual parameters, then it leaves us having to redo line wrapping. This commit changes the line wrapping so that every single "-param value" is one its own new line. If the "value" is still too long, then we break on ',' or ':' or ' ' as needed. This means that when we come to add / remove parameters from the test files line, the patch diffs will only ever show a single line added/removed which will greatly simplify review work. qemu: command: Override HOME variable for system QEMU By default, qemu user's home dir points to '/' which shouldn't be used at all. We therefore pass the HOME variable from the current variable iff not running as SUID, which means that for systemd we never set it. This mistake across many test XML files was not noticed because the mistake was also made in testutilsqemu.c when mocking the capabilities. qemu: Always assume QEMU_CAPS_REALTIME_MLOCK The '-realtime mlock' cmd line argument was introduced in QEMU commit v1.5.0-rc0~190 which matches minimal QEMU version we require. Therefore, the capability will always be present. Apparently, nearly none of our xml2argv test cases had the capability hence slightly bigger change under qemuxml2argvdata/. qemuxml2argvtest: Use internal wrapping of command line arguments virCommandToString has the possibility to return an already wrapped string with better format than what we get from the test wrapper script. The main advantage is that arguments for an option are always on the same line which makes it more easy to see what changed in a diff and prevents re-wrapping of the line if a wrapping point moves over the threshold. Additionally the used output is the same we have in the VM log file when a VM is starting. qemu: Specify format= iff disk source is not empty Just recently, qemu forbade specifying format for sourceless disks (qemu commit 39c4ae941ed992a3bb5). It kind of makes sense. If there's no file to open, why specify its format. Anyway, I have a domain like this: <disk type='file' device='cdrom'> <driver name='qemu' type='raw'/> <target dev='hda' bus='ide'/> <readonly/> <address type='drive' controller='0' bus='0' target='0' unit='0'/> </disk> and obviously I am unable to start it. The schema is unchanged for other video element types. The resulting qemu command line change is the addition of -global qxl-vga.ram_size=<ram>*1024 or -global qxl.ram_size=<ram>*1024 For the main and secondary qxl devices respectively. The default for the qxl ram bar is 64*1024 kilobytes (the same as the default qxl vram bar size).
