tests: redo test argv file line wrapping Back in commit bd6c46fa0cfe275c24debc1152cfc5206c04b59b Author: Juerg Haefliger <juerg.haefliger@hp.com> Date: Mon Jan 31 06:42:57 2011 -0500 tests: handle backspace-newline pairs in test input files all the test argv files were line wrapped so that the args were less than 80 characters. The way the line wrapping was done turns out to be quite undesirable, because it often leaves multiple parameters on the same line. If we later need to add or remove individual parameters, then it leaves us having to redo line wrapping. This commit changes the line wrapping so that every single "-param value" is one its own new line. If the "value" is still too long, then we break on ',' or ':' or ' ' as needed. This means that when we come to add / remove parameters from the test files line, the patch diffs will only ever show a single line added/removed which will greatly simplify review work. qemu: Adapt to new way of specifying PC speaker Historically, the way to set PC speaker for a guest was to pass: -soundhw pcspk but as of QEMU commit v5.1.0-rc0~28^2~3 this is deprecated and we should use: -machine pcspk-audiodev=$id instead. The old way was then removed in commit v7.1.0-rc0~99^2~3. Now, ideally we would have a capability selecting whether we talk to a QEMU that understands the new way or not. But it's not that simple - the machine attribute is just an alias to the .audiodev= attribute of 'isa-pcspk' object and both are created in pc_machine_initfn() function, i.e. not then the PC_MACHINE() class is initialized, but when it's instantiated. IOW, it's not possible for us to query whether we're dealing with older or newer QEMU. But given that the newer version is supported since v5.1.0 and the minimal version we require is v4.2.0 (i.e. there are two releases which don't understand the newer cmd line) and how frequently this feature is (un-)used (the issue was reported after ~1 year since it stopped working), I believe we can live without any capability and just use the newer cmd line unconditionally. qemu: Switch to -accel We currently use -machine accel=XXX which is just a syntax sugar for -accel XXX. The former doesn't allow specifying arguments for accelerator, because all arguments passed to -machine are treated as arguments of machine itself. The -accel argument was introduced in QEMU commit v2.9.0-rc0~70^2~19 and since our minimum required version is newer (2.11.0) we can safely assume its existence and use it without any capability.
