When commit bac6b266fb added this "functionality" this was the only
naming I could think of, but after discussion with Dan we found the name
'null' fits a bit better, so change it before we make a release with the
old name.

Since we cannot properly plug a new VM into the distributed switch, we can at
least report the provided pieces of information, so that XML editing still works
even for VMs with such interfaces.

Commit 70768cda97 added a functionality that was previously (in an unsubmitted
version of the commit) represented differently in the XML, but the filenames
kept the old name. Fix the name so they are not misleading.

Commit 42b2f35d36 was meant to test all four combinations of
serial-pipe-{server,client}-{app,vm} files, but did only add the files and by
mistake duplicated the tests. Those were later removed as duplicates, so add
them back in.

These XMLs live in a separate directory, there's no need for them
to have a special prefix in addition. Dinding proper file based on
vmx2xmltest.c is also needlessly complicated.
The steps used for mass rename are similar to v4.0.0-rc1~186.

In majority of DO_TEST() and DO_TEST_FAIL() calls the input vmx
file name is the same as the output XML file. Therefore, it's not
necessary to provide the same string twice. For the rest, where
the output XML file is different we can use symlinks to the
expected output.

Historically, we declared pointer type to our types:
typedef struct _virXXX virXXX;
typedef virXXX *virXXXPtr;
But usefulness of such declaration is questionable, at best.
Unfortunately, we can't drop every such declaration - we have to
carry some over, because they are part of public API (e.g.
virDomainPtr). But for internal types - we can do drop them and
use what every other C project uses 'virXXX *'.
This change was generated by a very ugly shell script that
generated sed script which was then called over each file in the

This is perfectly valid in VMWare and the VM just boots with an empty drive. We
used to just skip the whole drive before, but since we changed how we parse
empty cdrom drives this results in an error. Make it behave more closer to
VMWare.

There's only one variable to clean-up, others are just tokens inside that
variable, but it is nicer anyway. Positive returns have not been converted
because the function will change soon and it would not make much sense.

Always reverse-engineering VMX files, attempt to support SATA disks in
guests, and their controllers.
The esx-in-the-wild-10 test case is taken from RHBZ#1883588, while the
result of esx-in-the-wild-8 is updated with SATA disks.

It seems like CD-ROMs may have no 'fileName' property specified in case
there is nothing configured as attachment for the drive. Hence, make
sure that virVMXParseDisk() do not consider it mandatory anymore,
considering it an empty block cdrom device. Sadly virVMXParseDisk() is
used also to parse disk and floppies, so make sure that a NULL fileName
is handled in cdrom- and floppy-related paths.

To enable the virCapsPtr parameter to the post parse method to be
eliminated, the drivers must fetch the virCapsPtr from their own
driver via the opaque parameter, or use an alternative approach
to validate the parsed data.

Convert the firmware key to a type of autoselected firmware.
Only the 'efi' firmware is allowed for now, in case the key is present.
It seems VMware (at least ESXi) does not write the key in VMX files when
setting BIOS as firmware.

All of the ones being removed are pulled in by internal.h. The only
exception is sanlock which expects the application to include <stdint.h>
before sanlock's headers, because sanlock prototypes use fixed width
int, but they don't include stdint.h themselves, so we have to leave
that one in place.

cores per socket.
Add the VMX file attached to RHBZ#1568148 as testcase esx-in-the-wild-9;
adapt the resulting XML of testcase esx-in-the-wild-8 to the CPU
topology present in that VMX.

Right-aligning backslashes when defining macros or using complex

While checking for ABI stability, drivers might pose additional
checks that are not valid for general case. For instance, qemu
driver might check some memory backing attributes because of how
qemu works. But those attributes may work well in other drivers.

Tool such as libguestfs need the datacenter path to get access to disk
images. The ESX driver knows the correct datacenter path, but this
information cannot be accessed using libvirt API yet. Also, it cannot
be deduced from the connection URI in a robust way.
Expose the datacenter path in the domain XML as <vmware:datacenterpath>
node similar to the way the <qemu:commandline> node works. The new node
is ignored while parsing the domain XML. In contrast to <qemu:commandline>
it is output only.
