If initializing test monitor in testQemuHotplugCpuPrepare()
fails, the control jumps to error label where
testQemuHotplugCpuDataFree() is called. But since the data->mon
is NULL due to aforementioned failure,
qemuMonitorTestGetMonitor() dereferences a NULL pointer leading
to a SIGSEGV.

We have a few cases validating that the code behaves correctly in
pre-modern hotplug era. This is controled by the 'modern' flag for the
test. Since 'cpu-add' command is now deprecated in qemu, there is a
modern replacement for it, and the test output is checked against
expected commands we can skip schema validation for the legacy command.

Turns out that it's not enough to pass the qemu:///embed root to
virQEMUDriverConfigNew(), you also have to make sure the same
string is copied into the virQEMUDriver structure yourself, and
not doing so in our case resulted in the cleanup never happening
and in distcheck failing because of that.
On the other hand, actually setting config->embeddedRoot would
result in different paths being generated for each test run, which
would obviously break qemuxml2argvtest, so that's not an option
either.

We need this for all tests that use virHostdevManager, because
during creation of this object for unprivileged connections
like those used in the test suite we would end up writing inside
the user's home directory.
That's bad manners in general, but when running the test suite
inside a purposefully constrained environment such as the one
exposed by pbuilder, it turns into an outright test failure:

To prevent unexpected situations where a change in code would stop
looking at some of the tested commands go unnoticed add a mechanism to
force consumption of all test items.
Since there are a few tests which would be hard to fix add also a
mechanism to opt-out of the check.

One of the test cases attempted to use test data meant for modern qemu
without asserting the 'modern' flag. Since that changes the commands
used to query state it won't work with data meant for the modern case.

The 'human-monitor-command' equates to the 'drive-del' command issued by
the hotplug code on successful detach of a device. This means that it's
not issued for failed attempts and thus should not be added to the
expected list. Unfortunately our test monitor doesn't ensure that all
expected commands were consumed.

The qemuMonitorTestNew() function returns with the monitor object
locked, and expects it to still be locked when qemuMonitorTestFree
is called. The qemuhotplug test, however, explicitly unlocks the
monitor, but then forgets to lock it again. As a result the
qemuMonitorTestFree function is unlocking a mutex it doesn't own.
This bug has existed forever, but since we use normal POSIX mutexes
and don't check the return value of pthread_mutex_lock/unlock we
didn't see the error. It was harmless until the switch to the per
monitor event loop which requires the thread synchronization to
work reliably, whereupon it started crashing.

If a disk has persistent reservations enabled, qemu-pr-helper
might open not only /dev/mapper/control but also individual
targets of the multipath device. We are already querying for them
in CGroups, but now we have to create them in the namespace too.
This was brought up in [1].

If virHostdevManagerGetDefault in qemuhotplugtest fails it works
for quite a while to later segfault when accessing
mgr->activePCIHostdevs.
Report the error details and break on a failed init to see the
real issue right away.

Move the SPICE caps validation from qemuBuildGraphicsSPICECommandLine()
to a new function called qemuDomainDeviceDefValidateSPICEGraphics().
This function is called by qemuDomainDeviceDefValidateGraphics(),
which in turn is called by qemuDomainDefValidate(), validating the graphics
parameters in domain define time.
This validation move exposed a flaw in the 'default-video-type' tests
for PPC64, AARCH64 and s390 archs. The XML was considering 'spice' as
the default video type, which isn't true for those architectures.
This was flying under the radar until now because the SPICE validation
was being made in 'virsh start' time, while the XML validation done in
qemuxml2xmltest.c considers define time.
All other tests were adapted to consider SPICE validation in this
earlier stage.

Some of our tests try to validate domain XMLs they are working
with (not intentionally, simply because they call top level
domain XML parse function). Anyway, this implies that we build
domain capabilities also - see
virQEMUDriverGetDomainCapabilities(). And since some domain XMLs
are type of 'kvm' the control gets through
virQEMUCapsFillDomainCaps() and virHostCPUGetKVMMaxVCPUs() to
opening /dev/kvm which may be missing on the machine we're
running 'make check'.
Previously, we did not see this issue, because it was masked. If
building domain capabilities failed for whatever reason, we
ignored the failure. Only v5.9.0-207-gc69e6edea3 uncovered the
problem (it changed reval from 0 to -1 if
virQEMUDriverGetDomainCapabilities() fails). Since the referenced
commit is correct, we need to mock access to /dev/kvm in our
tests.

Several tests were not specifying the necessary qemu capabilities for
what they were testing. Due to the way that the video devices are
currently validated, this is not causing any problems. But a change to
video device validation in a following patch would have exposed this
issue and resulted in multiple test failures about the domain
configuration not supporting particular video models.

qemu_hotplugpriv.h is a header file created to share a global variable
called 'qemuDomainRemoveDeviceWaitTime', declared in qemu_hotplug.c,
to other files that would want to change the timeout value
(currently, only tests/qemuhotplugtest.c).
Previous patch deprecated the variable, using qemu_driver->unplugTimeout
to set the timeout instead. This means that the header file is now
unused, and can be safely discarded.

For some architectures and setups, device removal can take
longer than the default 5 seconds. This results in commands
such as 'virsh setvcpus' to fire timeout messages even if
the operation were successful in the guest, confusing the
user.
This patch sets a new 10 seconds unplug timeout for PPC64
guests. All other archs will keep the default 5 seconds
timeout.
Instead of putting 'if PPC64' conditionals inside qemu_hotplug.c
to set the new timeout value, a new function called
qemuDomainGetUnplugTimeout was added. The timeout value is then
retrieved when needed, by passing the correspondent DomainDef
object. This approach allows for different guest architectures
to have distint unplug timeout intervals, regardless of the
host architecture. This design also makes it easier to
modify/enhance the unplug timeout logic in the future
(allow for special timeouts for TCG domains, for example).
A new mock file was created to work with qemuhotplugtest.c,
given that the test timeout is significantly shorter than
the actual timeout value in qemu_hotplug.c.
The now unused 'qemuDomainRemoveDeviceWaitTime' global can't
be simply erased from qemu_hotplug.c though. Next patch will
remove it properly.

This patch adds hostdev test cases in qemuhotplugtest.c.
Note: the small tweak inside virpcimock.c was needed because
the new tests added a code path in which virHostHasIOMMU()
(virutil.c) started being called, and the mocked '/sys/kernel/'
prefix that is mocked in virpcimock.c wasn't being considered
in the opendir() mock. An alternative to avoid these situations
in virpcimock.c is implemented in the next patch.

Since qemuDomainDeviceDefPostParse callback requires qemuCaps, we need
to make sure it gets the capabilities stored in the domain's private
data if the domain is running. Passing NULL may cause QEMU capabilities
probing to be triggered in case QEMU binary changed in the meantime.
When this happens while a running domain object is locked, QMP event
delivered to the domain before QEMU capabilities probing finishes will
deadlock the event loop.
QEMU capabilities lookup (via domainPostParseDataAlloc callback) is
hidden inside virDomainDeviceDefPostParseOne with no way to pass
qemuCaps to virDomainDeviceDef* functions. This patch fixes all
remaining paths leading to virDomainDeviceDefPostParse.

The individual qemuDomainDetach*Device() functions will soon be "less
functional", since some of the code that is duplicated in 10 of the 12
detach functions is going to be moved into the common
qemuDomainDetachDeviceLive(), which calls them all.
qemuhotplugtest.c is the only place any of these individual functions
is called other than qemuDomainDetachDeviceLive() itself. Fortunately,
qemuDomainDetachDeviceLive() provides exactly the functionality needed
by the test driver (except that it supports detach of more device
types than the test driver has tests for).
This patch replaces the calls to
qemuDomainDetach(Chr|Shmen|Watchdog|Disk)Device with a single call to
the higher level function, allowing us to shift functionality between
the lower level functions without breaking the tests.

Currently all supported qemu versions now have support for the
DEVICE_DELETED event. This means that testing the old approach is a
waste of time.
Always add the QEMU_CAPS_DEVICE_DEL_EVENT capability in the hotplug test
and fix existing test cases.
The 'disk-virtio', 'disk-usb', 'disk-scsi', and 'disk-scsi-2' already
had variants that used the event, so the non-event variants will be
removed.
For all other cases the QMP_DEVICE_DELETED macro is used to add the
correct reply.

Switch to using Jansson >= 2.5.

Additionally, Ubuntu 14.04 on Travis-CI has 2.5. Set the requirement

Implement virJSONValue{From,To}String using Jansson, delete the yajl
code (and the related virJSONParser structure) and report an error
if someone explicitly specifies --with-yajl.
Also adjust the test data to account for Jansson's different whitespace
usage for empty arrays and tune up the specfile to keep 'make rpm'
working when bisecting.

The virDomainDetachDeviceAlias API is designed so that it only
sends detach request to qemu. It's user's responsibility to wait
for DEVICE_DELETED event, not libvirt's. Add @async flag to
qemuDomainDetach*Device() functions so that caller can chose if
detach is semi-synchronous (old virDomainDetachDeviceFlags()) or
fully asynchronous (new virDomainDetachDeviceFlags()).

Let us introduce the capability QEMU_CAPS_CCW for virtual-css-bridge
and replace QEMU_CAPS_VIRTIO_CCW with QEMU_CAPS_CCW in code segments
which identify support for ccw devices.
The virtual-css-bridge is part of the ccw support introduced in QEMU 2.7.
The QEMU_CAPS_CCW capability is based on the existence of the QEMU type.
Let us also add the capability QEMU_CAPS_CCW to the tests which
require support for ccw devices.

During domain startup there are many places where we need to acquire
secrets. Currently code passes around a virConnectPtr, except in the
places where we pass in NULL. So there are a few codepaths where ability
to start guests using secrets will fail. Change to acquire a handle to
the secret driver when needed.

Since domain can have at most one watchdog it simplifies things a
bit. However, since we must be able to set the watchdog action as
well, new monitor command needs to be used.

Some tests take already prepared domain from previous tests. In
this case, the domain is freed by the first test that doesn't
keep the domain. However, if there's no such test case domain is
leaked.

This removes the hacky extern global variable and modifies the
test code to properly create QEMU capabilities cache for QEMU
binaries used in our tests.

The test monitor should be freed separately so we need to remove the
pointer from the @vm object. This fixes a race condition crash in the
test introduced in commit a245abce43.
The cpu hotplug operation is rather complex so the testing code needs to
provide quite lot of data and monitor conversations to successfully test
it. The code mainly tests the selection of cpus according to the target
count request.
If libvirtd is running unprivileged, it can open a device's PCI config
data in sysfs, but can only read the first 64 bytes. But as part of
determining whether a device is Express or legacy PCI,
qemuDomainDeviceCalculatePCIConnectFlags() will be updated in a future
patch to call virPCIDeviceIsPCIExpress(), which tries to read beyond
the first 64 bytes of the PCI config data and fails with an error log
if the read is unsuccessful.
In order to avoid creating a parallel "quiet" version of
virPCIDeviceIsPCIExpress(), this patch passes a virQEMUDriverPtr down
through all the call chains that initialize the
qemuDomainFillDevicePCIConnectFlagsIterData, and saves the driver
pointer with the rest of the iterdata so that it can be used by
qemuDomainDeviceCalculatePCIConnectFlags(). This pointer isn't used
yet, but will be used in an upcoming patch (that detects Express vs
legacy PCI for VFIO assigned devices) to examine driver->privileged.
This is needed in order to migrate a domain with shmem devices as that
is not allowed to migrate.

Complete the implementation of support for TLS encryption on
chardev TCP transports by adding the hotplug ability of a secret
to generate the passwordid for the TLS object for chrdev, RNG,
and redirdev.
Fix up the order of object removal on failure to be the inverse
of the attempted attach (for redirdev, chr, rng) - for each the
tls object was being removed before the chardev backend.
Likewise, add the ability to hot unplug that secret object as well
and be sure the order of unplug matches that inverse order of plug.

There's a plan to rework the address handling, so testcases
that verify hotplugging ccw devices will help in avoiding
regression.
In this commit, some files are duplicated because of the way
qemuhotplug.c calculates the expected xml filenames.
I plan on changing that to explicitly stating the basis domain
xml, the device xml, and the expected xml.
This way we can safely differentiate what XMLs contain whole domain
definitions and which contain just devices. Thanks to that we can
test the domain XMLs in virschematest again.

This makes the search for related XMLs easier, plus they are not used in
the xml2argv tests anyway. This also makes future patches cleaner.
While on that remove unnecessary '-hotplug' from the filenames.

Verify that SCSI controllers get created automatically when a SCSI disk
is hot-plugged to a domain that doesn't have a matching SCSI controller
defined already.

Since commit 7140807917, qemu agent
channel cannot be plugged in because we won't generate its path
automatically. Let's not only fix that, but also add tests for it so
next time it's checked for.

Until now, the only hot thing in this test was the name. That's because
we set the id to '-1' before every test. With this change, we test the
hotplug on live domains as the name suggests and as it should be.

In qemuHotplugCreateObjects, the ret variable was filled by
the value returned by qemuTestCapsCacheInsert.
If any of the functions after this assignment failed, we would still
return success.
Also adjust testCompareXMLToArgvHelper, where this change is just
cosmetic, because the value was overwritten right away.
After 9c17d665fd the tap device for ethernet network type is
automatically precreated before spawning qemu. Problem is, the
qemuxml2argvtest wasn't updated and thus is failing. Because of
all the APIs that new code is calling, I had to mock a lot. Also,
since the tap FDs are labeled separately from the rest of the
devices/files I had to enable NOP security driver for the test
too.
