In v5.8.0-rc1~122 we've removed the only use of @safename in
qemuMonitorTextLoadSnapshot(). What we are left with is an
declared but not initialized variable that is passed to
VIR_FREE().

Historically HMP commands needed to be escaped to work properly.
The backdoor for calling HMP commands via QMP must unescape them so that
arguments aren't messed up.
Since we now only support the QMP passthrough the escape->unescape dance
is pointless.

In many files there are header comments that contain an Author:
statement, supposedly reflecting who originally wrote the code.
In a large collaborative project like libvirt, any non-trivial
file will have been modified by a large number of different
contributors. IOW, the Author: comments are quickly out of date,
omitting people who have made significant contribitions.
In some places Author: lines have been added despite the person
merely being responsible for creating the file by moving existing
code out of another file. IOW, the Author: lines give an incorrect
record of authorship.
With this all in mind, the comments are useless as a means to identify
who to talk to about code in a particular file. Contributors will always
be better off using 'git log' and 'git blame' if they need to find the
author of a particular bit of code.
This commit thus deletes all Author: comments from the source and adds
a rule to prevent them reappearing.
The Copyright headers are similarly misleading and inaccurate, however,
we cannot delete these as they have legal meaning, despite being largely
inaccurate. In addition only the copyright holder is permitted to change
their respective copyright statement.

All of the ones being removed are pulled in by internal.h. The only
exception is sanlock which expects the application to include <stdint.h>
before sanlock's headers, because sanlock prototypes use fixed width
int, but they don't include stdint.h themselves, so we have to leave
that one in place.

There is a long standing hack to pass a virConnectPtr into the
qemuMonitorStartCPUs method, so that when the text monitor prompts
for a disk password, we can lookup virSecretPtr objects. This causes
us to have to pass a virConnectPtr around through countless methods
up the call chain....except some places don't have any virConnectPtr
available so have always just passed NULL. We can finally fix this
disastrous design by using virGetConnectSecret() to open a connection
to the secret driver at time of use.

required to the code you end up with either distractingly broken

are just pushing all backslashes a few characters to one side.

The code causes the 'offset' variable to be overwritten (possibly with
NULL if neither of the vCPUs is halted) which causes a crash since the
variable is still used after that part.
Additionally there's a bug, since strstr() would look up the '(halted)'
string in the whole string rather than just the currently processed line
the returned data is completely bogus.
Rather than switching to single line parsing let's remove the code
altogether since it has a commonly used JSON monitor alternative and
the data itself is not very useful to report.

Prepare to extract more data by returning an array of structs rather than
just an array of thread ids. Additionally report fatal errors separately
from qemu not being able to produce data.
Move QEMU_DRIVE_HOST_PREFIX into the qemu_alias.c to dissuade future
callers from using it. Create qemuAliasDiskDriveSkipPrefix in order
to handle the current consumers that desire to check if an alias has
the drive- prefix and "get beyond it" in order to get the disk alias.
Since we already have a function that will generate the drivestr from
the alias, let's use it and remove the qemuDeviceDriveHostAlias.
Move the QEMU_DRIVE_HOST_PREFIX definition into qemu_alias.h
Also alter qemuAliasFromDisk to use the QEMU_DRIVE_HOST_PREFIX instead
of "drive-%s".
Rather than pass the disks[i]->info.alias to qemuMonitorSetDrivePassphrase
and then generate the "drive-%s" alias from that, let's use qemuAliasFromDisk
prior to the call to generate the drive alias and then pass that along
thus removing the need to generate the alias from the monitor code.
There's a bug in the function. We expect the following format for
the data we are parsing here:
key: value
So we use strchr() to find ':' and then see if it is followed by
space. But the check that does just that is slightly incorrect.

qemu won't ever add those functions directly to QMP. They will be
replaced with 'blockdev-add' and 'blockdev-del' eventually. At this time
there's no need to keep the stubs around.
Additionally the drive_del stub in JSON contained dead code in the
attempt to report errors. (VIR_ERR_OPERATION_UNSUPPORTED was never
reported). Since the text impl does have the same message it is reported
anyways.
QEMU changed the error message to:
"Tray of device 'drive-sata0-0-1' is not open"
and they may change the error massage in the future.
This updates the code to not depend on the text from the error message
but only on error itself.

Since 'savevm' was not converted to QMP libvirt has to parse for error
strings in the text monitor output. One of the unhandled errors is
produced when qemu treats a device as unmigratable.
As current qemu actually does support AHCI migration this bug is
applicable only to older versions of qemu.

Hot-unplugging a disk from a guest that supports hot-unplugging generates an error
in the libvirt log when running QEMU with the "-msg timestamp=on" flag.
2015-08-06 10:48:59.945+0000: 11662: error : qemuMonitorTextDriveDel:2594 :
operation failed: deleting drive-virtio-disk4 drive failed:
2015-08-06T10:48:59.945058Z Device 'drive-virtio-disk4' not found
This error is caused because the HMP results are getting prefixed with a timestamp.
Parsing the output is not reliable with STRPREFIX as the results can be prefixed with a timestamp.
Using strstr ensures that parsing the output works whether the results are prefixed or not.

Our virDomainBlockStatsFlags API uses the old approach where, when it's
called without the typed parameter array, returns the count of parameters
supported by qemu.
The supported parameter count is obtained via separate monitor calls
which is a waste since we can calculate it when gathering the data.
This patch adds code to the qemuMonitorGetAllBlockStatsInfo workers that
allows to track the count of supported fields reported by qemu and will
allow to remove the old duplicate code.
Add a different version of parser for "info blockstats" that basically
parses the same information as the existing copy of the function.
This will allow us to remove the single device version
qemuMonitorGetBlockStatsInfo in the future.
The new implementation uses few new helpers so it should be more
understandable and provides a test case to verify that it works.
Improve the monitor function to also retrieve the guest state of
character device (if provided) so that we can refresh the state of
virtio-serial channels and perhaps react to changes in the state in
future patches.
This patch changes the returned data from qemuMonitorGetChardevInfo to
return a structure containing the pty path and the state for all the
character devices.
The change to the testsuite makes sure that the data is parsed
correctly.
To unify future additions that require information from "query-chardev"
rename qemuMonitorGetPtyPaths and friends to qemuMonitorGetChardevInfo
and move the allocation of the returned hash into the top level
function.
