3b9432fa28 qemuAgentGetInterfaceAddresses: turn ifname into char*
We only care about the first part of the 'ifname' string,
splitting it is overkill.

Instead, just replace the ':' with a '\0' in a copy of the string.
This reduces the count of the varaibles containing some form
of the interface name to two.

9e48b02840 qemu: agent: use GetArray to remove a check
The error check for ValueObjectGet("return") is redundant,
qemuAgentCommand already checked for us that the reply contains
a "return" object.

It does not guarantee, that it is an array.

Use virJSONValueObjectGetArray that combines getting the object
with checking for its type and return the more helpful of
the two error messages.

67e744cb57 qemu: agent: split out qemuAgentGetInterfaceAddresses
Convert one interface from the "return" array returned by
"guest-network-get-interfaces" to virDomainInterface.

Due to the functionality of squashing interface aliases together,
this is not a pure function - it either:
* Adds the interface to ifaces_ret, incrementing ifaces_count
and adds a pointer to it into the ifaces_store hash table.
* Adds the additional IP addresses from the interface alias
to the existing interface entry, found through the hash table.
This does not increment ifaces_count or extend the array.

40b4f68d2d qemu: agent: use virHashNew
We're passing 'ifaces_count' to virHashCreate as the initial
hash table size just after we've initialized it to zero.
This translates to a default of 256 inside virHashCreateFull.

Instead of this obfuscation, use virHashNew (default of 32),
to make it obvious we don't care about the initial hash size.

Also remove the error handling, since neither of the functions
return any errors after switching to g_new0.

d9605abed6 qemu: fix response timeout for agent guest-sync
The agent 'guest-sync' command historically had a 5s response timeout
which was different from other agent commands, which waited forever.
When we added the ability to customize the response timeout for guest
agent commands, we intended to continue to use 5s for 'guest-sync' when
the user specified a response timeout greater than 5s, and use the
user-specified timeout if it was below 5s. Unfortunately, when
attempting to determine whether the user-specified timeout was less than
5s, we were comparing against an enum value of
VIR_DOMAIN_QEMU_AGENT_COMMAND_DEFAULT (which is -1) rather than against
the actual time value that it represented (5).

This change makes it so that 'guest-sync' now uses the user-specified
tiemout if it is less than 5s.

unlikely since when a bare <channel> is provided, libvirt

With this change a user who has use the PTY backend will

599ae372d8 qemu: don't access vmdef within qemu_agent.c
In order to avoid holding an agent job and a normal job at the same
time, we want to avoid accessing the domain's definition while holding
the agent job. To achieve this, qemuAgentGetFSInfo() only returns the
raw information from the agent query to the caller. The caller can then
release the agent job and then proceed to look up the disk alias from
the vm definition. This necessitates moving a few helper functions to
qemu_driver.c and exposing the agent data structure (qemuAgentFSInfo) in
the header.

In addition, because the agent function no longer returns the looked-up
disk alias, we can't test the alias within qemuagenttest. Instead we
simply test that we parse and return the raw agent data correctly.

95f5ac9ae5 Add API to change qemu agent response timeout
Some layered products such as oVirt have requested a way to avoid being
blocked by guest agent commands when querying a loaded vm. For example,
many guest agent commands are polled periodically to monitor changes,
and rather than blocking the calling process, they'd prefer to simply
time out when an agent query is taking too long.

This patch adds a way for the user to specify a custom agent timeout
that is applied to all agent commands.

One special case to note here is the 'guest-sync' command. 'guest-sync'
is issued internally prior to calling any other command. (For example,
when libvirt wants to call 'guest-get-fsinfo', we first call
'guest-sync' and then call 'guest-get-fsinfo').

Previously, the 'guest-sync' command used a 5-second timeout
(VIR_DOMAIN_QEMU_AGENT_COMMAND_DEFAULT), whereas the actual command that
followed always blocked indefinitely
(VIR_DOMAIN_QEMU_AGENT_COMMAND_BLOCK). As part of this patch, if a
custom timeout is specified that is shorter than
5 seconds, this new timeout is also used for 'guest-sync'. If there is
no custom timeout or if the custom timeout is longer than 5 seconds, we
will continue to use the 5-second timeout.

ff89403050 qemu: add support for new fields in FSInfo
Since version 3.0, qemu has returned disk usage statistics in
guest-get-fsinfo. And since 3.1, it has returned information about the
disk serial number and device node of disks that are targeted by the
filesystem.

Unfortunately, the public API virDomainGetFSInfo() returns the
filesystem info using a virDomainFSInfo struct, and due to API/ABI
guarantees it cannot be extended. So this new information cannot
easily be added to the public API. However, it is possible to add this
new filesystem information to a new virDomainGetGuestInfo() API which
will be based on typed parameters and is thus more extensible.

In order to support these two use cases, I added an internal struct
which the agent code uses to return all of the new data fields. This
internal struct can be converted to the public struct at a cost of some
extra memory allocation.

In a following commit, this additional information will be used within
virDomainGetGuestInfo().

600462834f Remove all Author(s): lines from source file headers
In many files there are header comments that contain an Author:
statement, supposedly reflecting who originally wrote the code.
In a large collaborative project like libvirt, any non-trivial
file will have been modified by a large number of different
contributors. IOW, the Author: comments are quickly out of date,
omitting people who have made significant contribitions.

In some places Author: lines have been added despite the person
merely being responsible for creating the file by moving existing
code out of another file. IOW, the Author: lines give an incorrect
record of authorship.

With this all in mind, the comments are useless as a means to identify
who to talk to about code in a particular file. Contributors will always
be better off using 'git log' and 'git blame' if they need to find the
author of a particular bit of code.

This commit thus deletes all Author: comments from the source and adds
a rule to prevent them reappearing.

The Copyright headers are similarly misleading and inaccurate, however,
we cannot delete these as they have legal meaning, despite being largely
inaccurate. In addition only the copyright holder is permitted to change
their respective copyright statement.

fc06debd0c qemu: remove pointless connect retry logic in agent
When the agent code was first introduced back in

  commit c160ce3316
  Author: Daniel P. Berrange <berrange@redhat.com>
  Date: Wed Oct 5 18:31:54 2011 +0100

    QEMU guest agent support

there was code that would loop and retry the connection when opening
the agent socket. At this time, the only thing done in between the
opening of the monitor socket & opening of the agent socket was a
call to set the monitor capabilities. This was a no-op on non-QMP
versions, so in theory there could be a race which let us connect
to the monitor while the agent socket was still not created by QEMU.

In the modern world, however, we long ago mandated the use of QMP
for managing QEMU, so we're guaranteed to have a set capabilities
QMP call. Once we've seen a reply to this, we're guaranteed that
QEMU has fully initialized all backends and is in its event loop.

We can thus be sure the QEMU agent socket is present and don't need
to retry connections to it, even without having the chardev FD passing
feature.

That means using the helper virJSONValueIsArray as well as using a

In some cases we can remove stack variables and when we cannot,
those variables should be size_t not ssize_t. Alter a few references

Thus it is possible to have risky simultaneous access to the structure
from 2 threads. Let's take monitor lock here to make access exclusive.

3ab9652a86 qemu: agent: fix uninitialized var case in qemuAgentGetFSInfo
In case of 0 filesystems *info is not set while according
to virDomainGetFSInfo contract user should call free on it even
in case of 0 filesystems. Thus we need to properly set
it. NULL will be enough as free eats NULLs ok.

c2a5a4e7ea virstring: Unify string list function names
We have couple of functions that operate over NULL terminated
lits of strings. However, our naming sucks:

virStringJoin
virStringFreeList
virStringFreeListCount
virStringArrayHasString
virStringGetFirstWithPrefix

We can do better:

virStringListJoin
virStringListFree
virStringListFreeCount
virStringListHasString
virStringListGetFirstWithPrefix

6bff9c03c9 qemu: agent: give better error messages whe agent monitor is down
We can receive NULL as sync reply in two situations. First
is garbage sync reply and this situation is handled by
resending sync message. Second is different cases
of rebooting guest, destroing domain etc and we can
give more meaningful error message. Actually we have
this error message in qemuAgentCommand already which checks
for the same sitatuion. AFAIK case with mon->running
is just to be safe on adding some future(?) cases of
returning NULL reply.

3f90a1aac0 qemu: agent: reissue sync on garbage sync reply
We can easily handle receiving garbage on sync. We don't
have to make client deal with this situation. We just
need to resend sync command but this time garbage is
not be possible.
