Right-aligning backslashes when defining macros or using complex
commands in Makefiles looks cute, but as soon as any changes is
required to the code you end up with either distractingly broken
alignment or unnecessarily big diffs where most of the changes
are just pushing all backslashes a few characters to one side.

There were a bunch of commentary blocks that were literally useless in
terms of describing what the code following them does, since most of
them were documenting "the obvious" or it just wouldn't help at all.

So we have a syntax-check rule to catch all tab indents but it naturally
can't catch tab spacing, i.e. as a delimiter. This patch is a result of
running 'vim -en +retab +wq'
(using tabstop=8 softtabstop=4 shiftwidth=4 expandtab) on each file from
a list generated by the following:
find . -regextype gnu-awk \
-regex ".*\.(rng|syms|html|s?[ch]|py|pl|php(\.code)?)(\.in)?" \
| xargs git grep -lP "\t"

This helper allows you to better structurize the code if some element
may or may not contains attributes and/or child elements.

It's equivalent of calling virXPathString("string(.)", ctxt) but it
doesn't have to use the XPath resolving and parsing.

The virXMLPropStringLimit is an equivalent of virXPathStringLimit
which should be preferred if you already have a XML dom node or
if you need to parse more than one property.

There are couple of places where we have a string and want to
save it to a file. Atomically. In all those places we use
virFileRewrite() but also implement the very same callback which
takes the string and write it into temp file. This makes no
sense. Unify the callbacks and move them to one place.

This new function can be used to check if e.g. name of XML
node don't contains forbidden chars like "/" or "\n".

When user tries to insert element metadata providing a namespace
declaration as well, currently we insert the element without any validation
check for XML prefix (if provided). The next VM start would then
fail with parse error. This patch fixes this issue by adding a call to
xmlValidateNCName function to check for illegal characters in the
prefix.

If the XML_PARSE_NOENT flag is passed to libxml2, then any
entities in the input document will be fully expanded. This
allows the user to read arbitrary files on the host machine
by creating an entity pointing to a local file. Removing
the XML_PARSE_NOENT flag means that any entities are left
unchanged by the parser, or expanded to "" by the XPath
APIs.

A "xmlstr" string may not be assigned into a "doc" pointer and it
could cause memory leak. To fix it if the "doc" pointer is NULL and
the "xmlstr" string is not assigned we should free it.

The virDomainGetMetadata function was designed to support also retrieval
of app specific metadata from the <metadata> element. This functionality
was never implemented originally.
The source code base needs to be adapted as well. Some files
include virutil.h just for the string related functions (here,
the include is substituted to match the new file), some include
virutil.h without any need (here, the include is removed), and
some require both.
