When the 'string()' conversion is used the number is parsed inside
libvirt by our internal helpers which work on integers in contrast to
when 'number()' is used and libxml2 uses a 'double' variable internally.
On the upper extremes of the 64 bit variables the double precision
variable doesn't have enough precision to represent each distinct
integer and thus could cause problems.

Replace it by proper use of virXMLParse to validate the root node and
allocate the context. The use in the test driver can be directly
replaced by virStoragePoolDefParseXML as both are validated.
The change to the storage driver isn't trivial though as it requires
careful xpath context juggling to parse the nested volumes properly.

The generic helper also has helper code to validate the root element and
create an XPath context. Many places in the code duplicate code for
doing these operations.
Extend the helper to provide all arguments and fix all callers.
In many cases this patch refactors the passing of the 'validate'
field into a separate variable to avoid quirky looking arguments.

There are couple of places where virTristateBoolTypeFromString()
is called. Well, the same result can be achieved by
virXMLPropTristateBool() and on fewer lines.
Note there are couple of places left untouched because those
don't care about error reporting and thus are shorter they way
they are now.

In some cases we have a label that contains nothing but a return
statement. The amount of such labels rises as we use automagic
cleanup. Anyway, such labels are pointless and can be dropped.

VIR_APPEND_ELEMENT which allows us to remove error handling as the
only relevant errors were removed when switching to aborting memory

The default value hard-coded in QEMU (64KiB) is not always the ideal.
Having a possibility to set the cluster_size by user may in specific
use-cases improve performance for QCOW2 images.
QEMU internally has some limits, the value has to be between 512B and
2048KiB and must by power of two, except when the image has Extended L2
Entries the minimal value has to be 16KiB.
Since qemu-img ensures the value is correct and the limit is not always
the same libvirt will not duplicate any of these checks as the error
message from qemu-img is good enough:
Cluster size must be a power of two between 512 and 2048k

Historically, we declared pointer type to our types:
typedef struct _virXXX virXXX;
typedef virXXX *virXXXPtr;
But usefulness of such declaration is questionable, at best.
Unfortunately, we can't drop every such declaration - we have to
carry some over, because they are part of public API (e.g.
virDomainPtr). But for internal types - we can do drop them and
use what every other C project uses 'virXXX *'.
This change was generated by a very ugly shell script that
generated sed script which was then called over each file in the

This patch takes on one set of examples of unnecessary use of
VIR_FREE() when g_free() is adequate - it modifies only vir*Free()
functions within the conf directory that take a single pointer and
free the object pointed to by that argument before returning. The
modification is to replace VIR_FREE() with g_free() for the object
itself *and* for all subordinate chunks of memory pointed to by that
object.
(NB: there are other functions that VIR_FREE subordinate memory of
objects that end up being freed before return (also sometimes with
VIR_FREE); I am purposefully ignoring those to reduce scope and focus
on a sub class where the pointlessness is obvious.)

The storage pool code now attempts to disable COW by default on btrfs,
but management applications may wish to override this behaviour. Thus we
introduce a concept of storage pool features:

</features>
If the <cow> feature policy is set, it will be enforced. It will always
return an hard error if COW cannot be explicitly set or unset.
