So, it's a little paradox that we use the file twice. Firstly to build libvirt-admin.la (a client side of the Admin API), then once again to build the server side. Well, the problem is, this does not play nicely with the distclean since the file is generated. So while it's removed in the src/ the distclean running in daemon/ will not find the file and fail. The file is needed because it contains the RPC wrappers. So let's leave the client code as is and from the daemon/ just link the client library. The linker will find desired symbols and use them. LibVirt : simple API for virtualization Libvirt is a C toolkit to interact with the virtualization capabilities of recent versions of Linux (and other OSes). It is free software available under the GNU Lesser General Public License. Virtualization of the Linux Operating System means the ability to run multiple instances of Operating Systems concurrently on a single hardware system where the basic resources are driven by a Linux instance. The library aim at providing long term stable C API initially for the Xen paravirtualization but should be able to integrate other virtualization mechanisms if needed.
