The generator can produce different code on Linux and macOS: specifically, on the former we want to use xdr_uint64_t while the latter needs xdr_u_int64_t instead. This is clearly a problem for tests that involve comparing the output produced against some expected output that's stored in the git repository. In the long run, we need to find a better way to handle this, but since 9.10.0 is going to be released very soon and we don't want it to have a broken test suite on macOS, simply skip the generator tests on that platform for now. Libvirt API for virtualization
Libvirt provides a portable, long term stable C API for managing the virtualization technologies provided by many operating systems. It includes support for QEMU, KVM, Xen, LXC, bhyve, Virtuozzo, VMware vCenter and ESX, VMware Desktop, Hyper-V, VirtualBox and the POWER Hypervisor.
For some of these hypervisors, it provides a stateful management daemon which runs on the virtualization host allowing access to the API both by non-privileged local users and remote users.
Layered packages provide bindings of the libvirt C API into other languages including Python, Perl, PHP, Go, Java, OCaml, as well as mappings into object systems such as GObject, CIM and SNMP.
