95b9db4ee2 lib: Prefer WITH_* prefix for #if conditionals
Currently, we are mixing: #if HAVE_BLAH with #if WITH_BLAH.
Things got way better with Pavel's work on meson, but apparently,
mixing these two lead to confusing and easy to miss bugs (see
31fb929eca for instance). While we were forced to use HAVE_
prefix with autotools, we are free to chose our own prefix with
meson and since WITH_ prefix appears to be more popular let's use
it everywhere.

9d15647dcb Xen: Add writeFiltering option for PCI devices
By default Xen only allows guests to write "known safe" values into PCI
configuration space, yet many devices require writes to other areas of
the configuration space in order to operate properly. To allow writing
any values Xen supports the 'permissive' setting, see xl.cfg(5) man page.

This change models Xen's permissive setting by adding a writeFiltering
attribute on the <source> element of a PCI hostdev. When writeFiltering
is set to 'no', the Xen permissive setting will be enabled and guests
will be able to write any values into the device's configuration space.
The permissive setting remains disabled in the absense of the
writeFiltering attribute, of if it is explicitly set to 'yes'.

7a706b02ed manpages/virsh: A couple of small clarifications
Changes:

  - Update the descriptions of --current & --config flags.

    For --config, the reason to rephrase "next boot" to "next start"
    is: "Next boot may still imply somebody selecting "reboot" in the
    guest OS and fully expecting the changes to be applied." (per Peter
    Krempa)

    For --current, existing documentation says:

      "If *--current* is specified, affect the current guest state."

    It's not entirely clear what states can "current" mean or imply. So
    rephrase it in context of the other two related flags --live and
    --config.

  - While at it, I also took the liberty to replace the few occurrences
    of "peristent domain[s]" with "persistent guest[s]"

Fix all occurrences (i.e. as many as I could spot) of this.

It's a optional attribute in libvirt, and qemu will choose default

With device property 'role', the value can be 'master' or 'peer'.
 - 'master' (means 'master=on' in qemu), the guest will copy

convert bin is part of ImageMagick package and uses uniconvertor to

Unfortunately uniconvertor is python2 only and not available in most
recent distributions which makes the convert command fail with:

sh: uniconvertor: command not found
/usr/bin/mv: cannot stat '/tmp/magick-1397138DRT8Pzx4Qmoc.svg': No such file or directory
convert: delegate failed `'uniconvertor' '%i' '%o.svg'; /usr/bin/mv '%o.svg' '%o'' @ error/delegate.c/InvokeDelegate/1958.

convert: no images defined `docs/migration-managed-direct.png' @ error/convert.c/ConvertImageCommand/3226.

It looks like that there are plans to somehow port uniconvertor into
python3 but as part of different project color-picker but the job is
far from complete.

7e5b993d3b backup: Allow configuring incremental backup per-disk individually
The semantics of the backup operation don't strictly require that all
disks being backed up are part of the same incremental part (when a disk
was checkpointed/backed up separately or in a different VM), or even
they may not have a previous checkpoint at all (e.g. when the disk
was freshly hotplugged to the vm).

In such cases we can still create a common checkpoint for all of them
and backup differences according to configuration.

This patch adds a per-disk configuration of the checkpoint to do the
incremental backup from via the 'incremental' attribute and allows
perform full backups via the 'backupmode' attribute.

Note that no changes to the qemu driver are necessary to take advantage
of this as we already obey the per-disk 'incremental' field.

f1d7d6c2cf docs: documentation and schema for the new TPM Proxy model
QEMU 4.1.0 introduced a new device type called TPM Proxy, currently
implemented by PPC64 guests via a new virtual device called
'spapr-tpm-proxy' (see QEMU 0fb6bd073230 for more info).

The TPM Proxy device interacts with a TPM Resource Manager, a host
device capable of multiplexing the host TPM with multiple processes.
This allows multiple guests to access some TPM features at the
same time. Note that this mode of operation does not provide
full TPM features to be available for the guest - for that case
the guest still needs to assign a vTPM device (tpm-spapr for
PPC64 guests). Although redundant, there is currently no technical
limitation for a guest to assign both a vTPM and a TPM Proxy at the
same time.

This patch adds documentation and schema for a new TPM model
type called 'spapr-tpm-proxy' that creates this new TPM Proxy
device. This model is valid only for the 'passthrough' backend.
An example of a TPM Proxy device connected to a TPM Resource Manager
'/dev/tpmrm0' will look like this:

<tpm model='spapr-tpm-proxy'>
  <backend type='passthrough'>
    <device path='/dev/tpmrm0'/>
  </backend>
</tpm>

07e1a18acc formatdomain.html.in: document the NUMA cpus auto fill feature
We're not mentioning that we're replicating QEMU behavior on purpose.
First because QEMU will one day, maybe, change the behavior and
start to refuse incomplete NUMA setups, and then our documentation
is now deprecated. Second, auto filling the CPUs in the first
cell will work regardless of QEMU changes in the future.

The idea is to encourage the user to provide a complete NUMA CPU topology,
not relying on the CPU auto fill mechanic.

3a58613b0c manpages/virsh.rst: clarify numatune memory migration on Linux
On Linux, changing the nodeset on 'numatune' does not imply that
the guest memory will be migrated on the spot to the new nodeset.
The memory migration is tied on guest usage of the memory pages,
and an idle guest will take longer to have its memory migrated
to the new nodeset.

This is a behavior explained in detail in the Linux kernel
documentation in Documentation/admin-guide/cgroup-v1/cpusets.rst.
The user doesn't need this level of detail though - just needs
his/her expectations under check. Running 'numastat' and hoping
for instant memory migration from the previous nodeset to the new
one is not viable.

There's also parts of the memory that are locked by QEMU in the
same place, e.g. when VFIO devices are present. Let's also
mention it as another factor that impacts the results the
user might expect from NUMA memory migration with numatune.

fadbaa2375 conf: add xen hypervisor feature 'passthrough'
'passthrough' is Xen-Specific guest configuration option new to Xen 4.13
that enables IOMMU mappings for a guest and hence whether it supports PCI
passthrough. The default is disabled. See the xl.cfg(5) man page and
xen.git commit babde47a3fe for more details.

The default state of disabled prevents hotlugging PCI devices. However,
if the guest configuration contains a PCI passthrough device at time of
creation, libxl will automatically enable 'passthrough' and subsequent
hotplugging of PCI devices will also be possible. It is not possible to
unconditionally enable 'passthrough' since it would introduce a migration
incompatibility due to guest ABI change. Instead, introduce another Xen
hypervisor feature that can be used to enable guest PCI passthrough

  <features>
    <xen>
      <passthrough state='on'/>
    </xen>
  </features>

To allow finer control over how IOMMU maps to guest P2M table, the
passthrough element also supports a 'mode' attribute with values
restricted to snyc_pt and share_pt, similar to xl.cfg(5) 'passthrough'
setting .

f68601dd72 formatdomain.html.in: document emulator/vcpu pin delay
In a guest with only one vcpu, when pinning the emulator in say CPU184
and the vcpu0 in CPU0 of the host, the user might expect that only
CPU0 and CPU184 of the host will be used by the guest.

The reality is that Libvirt takes some time to honor the emulator
and vcpu pinning, taking care of NUMA constraints first. This will
result in other CPUs of the host being potentially used by the
QEMU thread until the emulator/vcpu pinning is done. The user
then might be confused by the output of 'virsh cpu-stats' in this
scenario, showing around 200 microseconds of cycles being spent
in other CPUs.

Let's document this behavior, which is explained in detail in
Libvirt commit v5.0.0-199-gf136b83139, in the cputune section
of formatdomain.html.in.

Event channels are like PV interrupts and in conjuction with grant frames
form a data transfer mechanism for PV drivers. They are also used for
inter-processor interrupts. Guests with a large number of vcpus and/or
many PV devices many need to increase the maximum default value of 1023.
For this reason the native Xen config format supports the
'max_event_channels' setting. See xl.cfg(5) man page for more details.

Similar to the existing maxGrantFrames option, add a new xenbus controller
option 'maxEventChannels', allowing to adjust the maximum value via libvirt.

0895a0e75d formatdomain.html.in: fix 'sockets' info in topology element
In the 'topology' element it is mentioned, regarding the sockets
value, "They refer to the total number of CPU sockets".

This is not accurate. What we're doing is calculating the number
of sockets per NUMA node, which can be checked in the current
implementation of virHostCPUGetInfoPopulateLinux(). Calculating
the total number of sockets would break the topology sanity
check nodes*sockets*cores*threads=online_cpus.

This documentation fix is important to avoid user confusion when
seeing the output of 'virsh capabilities' and expecting it to be
equal to the output of 'lscpu'. E.g in a Power 9 host this 'lscpu'
output:

Architecture:        ppc64le
Byte Order:          Little Endian
CPU(s):              160
On-line CPU(s) list: 0-159
Thread(s) per core:  4
Core(s) per socket:  20
Socket(s):           2
NUMA node(s):        2
Model:               2.2 (pvr 004e 1202)
Model name:          POWER9, altivec supported

And this XML output from virsh capabilities:

    <cpu>
      <arch>ppc64le</arch>
      <model>POWER9</model>
      <vendor>IBM</vendor>
      <topology sockets='1' dies='1' cores='20' threads='4'/>
      (...)
    </cpu>

Both are correct, as long as we mention in the Libvirt documentation
that 'sockets' in the topology element represents the number of sockets
per NUMA node.

d146105f1e virCommand: Actually acquire pidfile instead of just writing it
Our virCommand module allows us to set a pidfile for commands we
want to spawn. The caller constructs the string of pidfile path
and then uses virCommandSetPidFile() to tell the module to write
the pidfile once the command is ran. This usually works, but has
two flaws:

1) the child process does not hold the pidfile open & locked.
Therefore, the caller (or anybody else) can't use our fancy
virPidFileForceCleanupPath() function to kill the command
afterwards. Also, for everybody else on the system it's
needlessly harder to check if the pid from the pidfile is still
alive or not.

2) if the caller ever makes a mistake and passes the same pidfile
path for two different commands, the start of the second command
will overwrite the pidfile even though the first command might
still be running.

NOTE that this temporarily renders some command spawning
unusable, specifically those code patterns where both
virCommandSetPidFile() is used together with instructing spawned
command to acquire pidfile itself. Fortunately, there is only one
occurrence of such pattern and it is in
qemuProcessStartManagedPRDaemon(). This is fixed in next commit.

ppc64 NVDIMM support was implemented in QEMU by commit [1].
The support is similar to what x86 already does, aside from
an extra 'uuid' element.

This patch introduces a new optional 'uuid' element for the
NVDIMM memory model. This element behaves like the 'uuid'
element of the domain definition - if absent, we'll create
a new one, otherwise use the one provided by the XML.
The 'uuid' element is exclusive to pseries guests and are
unavailable for other architectures.

Next patch will use this new element to add NVDIMM support
for ppc64.

The current documentation is fairly terse and not easy to decode

from both the guest OS and host point of view.

c4a78d00f8 docs: Improve documentation for <serial> and <console>
Users expect to be able to configure the <console> element and see
that configuration reflected into the <serial> element or at least
sticking, however due to our crazy back-compat code that doesn't
always happen.

There's really not much we can do to make this kind of corner cases
work as the user would expect, especially not without introducing
additional complexity in a part of libvirt that already has more
than a fair share of it; we can, however, improve the documentation
so that it will nudge said users in the right direction.
