Most places which want to check ABI stability for an active domain need
to call this API rather than the original
qemuDomainDefCheckABIStability. The only exception is in snapshots where
we need to decide what to do depending on the saved image data.

If QEMU is new enough and we have the live updated CPU definition in
either save or migration cookie, we can use it to enforce ABI. The
original guest CPU from domain XML will be stored in private data.

When persistent migration of a transient domain is requested but no
custom XML is passed to the migration API we would just let the
destination daemon make a persistent definition from the live definition
itself. This is not a problem now, but once the destination daemon
starts replacing the original CPU definition with the one from migration
cookie before starting a domain, it would need to add more ugly hacks to
reverse the operation. Let's just always send the persistent definition
in the cookie to make things a bit cleaner.

The destination host may not be able to start a domain using the live

While fixing a bug with incorrectly freed memory in commit
v3.1.0-399-g5498aa29a, I accidentally broke persistent migration of
transient domains. Before adding qemuDomainDefCopy in the path, the code
just took NULL from vm->newDef and used it as the persistent def, which
resulted in no persistent XML being sent in the migration cookie. This
scenario is perfectly valid and the destination correctly handles it by
using the incoming live definition and storing it as the persistent one.
After the mentioned commit libvirtd would just segfault in the described
scenario.

When creating v3.2.0-77-g8be3ccd04 commit, I completely forgot that one
migration capability is very special. It's the "events" capability which
tells QEMU to report "MIGRATION" events. Since libvirt always wants the
events, it is enabled in qemuConnectMonitor and the rest of the code
should not touch it.

Not all async jobs are visible via virDomainGetJobStats (either they are
too fast or getting the stats is not allowed during the job), but
forcing all of them to advertise the operation is easier than hunting
the jobs for which fetching statistics is allowed. And we won't need to
think about this when we add support for getting stats for more jobs.

0feebab2 adds calling qemuBlockNodeNamesDetect for completed job
on updating block jobs. This affects cancelling drive mirror logic as
this function drops vm lock. Now we have to recheck all disks
before the disk with the completed block job before going
to wait for block job events.

While peer-to-peer migration enters the Confirm phase even if the
Perform phase fails, the client which initiated a non-p2p migration will
never call virDomainMigrateConfirm* API if the Perform phase failed.
Thus we need to explicitly reset migration before reporting a failure
from the Perform phase API.

Since the disks are copied by qemu, there's no need to enforce
cache=none. Thankfully the code that added qemuMigrateDisk did not break
existing configs, since if you don't select any disk to migrate
explicitly the code behaves sanely.
The logic for determining whether a disk should be migrated is
open-coded since using qemuMigrateDisk twice would be semantically
incorrect.
So far only QEMU_MONITOR_MIGRATION_CAPS_POSTCOPY was reset, but only in
a single code path leaving post-copy enabled in quite a few cases.

Finished qemuMigrationRun does not mean the migration itself finished
(it might have just switched to post-copy mode). While resetting TLS
parameters is probably OK at this point even if migration is still
running, we want to consolidate the code which resets various migration
parameters. Thus qemuMigrationResetTLS will be called from the Confirm
phase (or at the end of the Perform phase in case of v2 protocol), when
migration is either canceled or finished.

So far our code is full of the following pattern:

There is no reasong why it couldn't be just:
dom = virGetDomain(conn, name, uuid, id);
After all, client domain representation consists of tuple (name,
uuid, id).

There is no reason for it not to be in the utils, all global symbols
under that file already have prefix vir* and there is no reason for it
to be part of DRIVER_SOURCES because that is just a leftover from

qemuMigrationResetTLS() does not initialize 'ret' by default,
so when it jumps to 'cleanup' on error, the 'ret' variable will be
uninitialized, which clang complains about.
Set it to '-1' by default.

If the migration flags indicate this migration will be using TLS,
then while we have connection in the Begin phase check and setup the
TLS environment that will be used by virMigrationRun during the Perform
phase for the source to configure TLS.
Processing adds an "-object tls-creds-x509,endpoint=client,..." and
possibly an "-object secret,..." to handle the passphrase response.
Then it sets the 'tls-creds' and possibly 'tls-hostname' migration
parameters.
The qemuMigrateCancel will clean up and reset the environment as it
was originally found.

If the migration flags indicate this migration will be using TLS,
then set up the destination during the prepare phase once the target
domain has been started to add the TLS objects to perform the migration.
This will create at least an "-object tls-creds-x509,endpoint=server,..."
for TLS credentials and potentially an "-object secret,..." to handle the
passphrase response to access the TLS credentials. The alias/id used for
the TLS objects will contain "libvirt_migrate".
Once the objects are created, the code will set the "tls-creds" and
"tls-hostname" migration parameters to signify usage of TLS.
During the Finish phase we'll be sure to attempt to clear the
migration parameters and delete those objects (whether or not they
were created). We'll also perform the same reset during recovery
if we've reached FINISH3.
If the migration isn't using TLS, then be sure to check if the
migration parameters exist and clear them if so.
Add the fields to support setting tls-creds and tls-hostname during
a migration (either source or target). Modify the query migration
function to check for the presence and set the field for future
consumers to determine which of 3 conditions is being met (NULL,
present and set to "", or present and sent to something). These
correspond to qemu commit id '4af245dc3' which added support to
default the value to "" and allow setting (or resetting) to ""
in order to disable. This reset option allows libvirt to properly
use the tls-creds and tls-hostname parameters.
Modify code paths that either allocate or use stack space in order
to call qemuMigrationParamsClear or qemuMigrationParamsFree for cleanup.

Now that we have some qemuSecurity wrappers over
virSecurityManager APIs, lets make sure everybody sticks with
them. We have them for a reason and calling virSecurityManager
API directly instead of wrapper may lead into accidentally
labelling a file on the host instead of namespace.

qemuConnectAgent return -1 or -2 in case of different errors.
A. -1 is a case of unsuccessuful connection to guest agent.
B. -2 is a case of destoyed domain during connection attempt.
All qemuConnectAgent callers handle the first error the same way
so let's move this logic into qemuConnectAgent itself. Patched
function returns 0 in case A and -1 in case B.
Unlike other migration capabilities, post-copy is also set on the
destination host which means it doesn't disappear once domain is
migrated. As a result of that other functionality which internally uses
migration to a file (virDomainManagedSave, virDomainSave,
virDomainCoreDump) may fail after migration because the post-copy
capability is still set.

Currently Libvirt allows attempts to migrate read only disks. Qemu
cannot handle this as read only disks cannot be written to on the
destination system. The end result is a cryptic error message and a
failed migration.
This patch causes migration to fail earlier and provides a meaningful
error message stating that migrating read only disks is not supported.

We can't rely on def->emulator path. It may be provided by user
as we give them opportunity to provide their own XML for
migration. Therefore the path may point to just whatever binary
(or even to a non-existent file). Moreover, this path is meant
for destination, but the capabilities lookup is done on source.
What we can do is to assume same capabilities for post parse
callbacks as the running domain has. They will be used just to
add some default models/controllers/devices/... anyway.

Old libvirt represents

In this mode, QEMU doesn't listen for SPICE connection anywhere and
clients have to use virDomainOpenGraphics* APIs to attach to the domain.
That is, the client has to run on the same host where the domains runs
and it's impossible to tell the client to reconnect to the destination
QEMU during migration (unless there is some kind of proxy on the host).
While current libvirt correctly ignores such graphics devices when
creating graphics migration cookie, old libvirt just sends
<graphics type='spice' port='0' listen='0.0.0.0' tlsPort='-1'/>
in the cookie. After seeing this cookie, we happily would call
client_migrate_info QMP command and wait for SPICE_MIGRATE_COMPLETED
event, which is quite pointless since the doesn't know where to connecti
anyway. We should just ignore such cookies.

When migration fails, we need to poke QEMU monitor to check for a reason
of the failure. We did this using query-migrate QMP command, which is
not supposed to return any meaningful result on the destination side.
Thus if the monitor was still functional when we detected the migration
failure, parsing the answer from query-migrate always failed with the
following error message:
"info migration reply was missing return status"
This irrelevant message was then used as the reason for the migration
failure replacing any message we might have had.
Let's use harmless query-status for poking the monitor to make sure we
only get an error if the monitor connection is broken.

If a migration of a domain which is already defined on the destination
host failed early (before we tried to start QEMU), we would forget to
remove the incoming transient definition. Later on when someone starts
the domain on the destination host, we will use the stale incoming
definition and the persistent definition will just be ignored.

Introduce a new migration cookie flag that will be used for any
configurations that are not compatible with libvirt that would not
support the specific vcpu hotplug approach. This will make sure that old
libvirt does not fail to reproduce the configuration correctly.
Since we already have a function that will generate the drivestr from
the alias, let's use it and remove the qemuDeviceDriveHostAlias.
Move the QEMU_DRIVE_HOST_PREFIX definition into qemu_alias.h
Also alter qemuAliasFromDisk to use the QEMU_DRIVE_HOST_PREFIX instead
of "drive-%s".
Older libvirt versions send persistent XML in a migration cookie even
when VIR_MIGRATE_PERSIST_DEST flag is not used, but current libvirt
properly fails if the cookie contains unexpected flags. Thus migration
from old libvirt fails with
internal error: Unsupported migration cookie feature persistent
unless VIR_MIGRATE_PERSIST_DEST flag is set.

The other two DomainHasBlockJob usage error messages don't contain
'an', so unify things to save translators some effort. Dropping
the 'an' is closer to the sentence structure in the errors from
qemuDomainDiskBlockJobIsActive as well
Validation of qemu process startup requires to know whether the process
is used for a fresh VM or whether it's reloaded from a
snapshot/migration. Pass this information in via a flag rather than
calculating it from a bunch of bools.
Until now we weren't able to add checks that would reject configuration
once accepted by the parser. This patch adds a new callback and
infrastructure to add such checks. In this patch all the places where
rejecting a now-invalid configuration wouldn't be a good idea are marked
with a new parser flag.
Historically, we added heads=1 to videos, but for example for qxl, we
did not reflect that on the command line.

Migration API allows to specify a destination domain configuration.
Offline domain has only inactive XML and it is replaced by configuration
specified using VIR_MIGRATE_PARAM_DEST_XML param. In case of live
migration VIR_MIGRATE_PARAM_DEST_XML param is applied for active XML.
This commit introduces the new VIR_MIGRATE_PARAM_PERSIST_XML param
that can be used within live migration to replace persistent/inactive
configuration.

So this is never triggered for VNC, and in fact VNC has no support for
seamless migration anyways so that seems correct. Drop the dead VNC
handling.

Commit 08cc14f moved the conversion of MiB/s to B/s out of the
qemuMonitor APIs, but forgot to adjust the qemuMigrationDriveMirror
caller.
This patch will convert the migrate_speed value from MiB/s to its
mirror_speed equivalent in bytes/s.

When migration fails in the post-copy mode, it's impossible to just kill
the destination domain and resume the source since the source no longer
contains current guest state. Let's mark domains on both sides as
VIR_DOMAIN_PAUSED_POSTCOPY_FAILED to let the upper layer decide what to
do with them.

Migration enters "postcopy-active" state after QEMU switches to
post-copy and pauses guest CPUs. From libvirt's point of view this state
is similar to "completed" because we need to transfer guest execution to
the destination host.

Mostly it is just passing new parameter here and there. In case
of zero value we fallback to auto selecting port and thus keep
backward compatibility.
Also we need to fix places of auto selected port managment.
We should bother only when auto selected was done that is
when externally specified port is not 0.

Computing a total downtime during a migration requires us to store a
time stamp when guest CPUs get stopped. The value (and all other
statistics) is then transferred to the destination to compute the
downtime. Because the stopped time stamp is stored by a STOP event
handler while the statistics which will be sent over to the destination
are copied synchronously within qemuMigrationWaitForCompletion.
Depending on the timing of STOP and MIGRATION events, we may end up
copying (and transferring) statistics without the stopped time stamp
set. Let's make sure we always use the correct time stamp.

With a very old QEMU which doesn't support events we need to explicitly
call qemuMigrationSetOffline at the end of migration to update our
internal state. On the other hand, if we talk to QEMU using QMP, we
should just wait for the STOP event and let the event handler update the
state and trigger a libvirt event.

We should not overwrite all migration statistics on the source with the
numbers sent by the destination since the source may have an updated
view in some cases (such as post-copy migration). It's safer to update
just the timing info we need to get from the destination and be prepared
for the future. And we should only do all this after a successful
migration.

Calling qemuProcessStop without a job opens a way to race conditions
with qemuDomainObjExitMonitor called in another thread. A real world
example of such a race condition:
- migration thread (A) calls qemuMigrationWaitForSpice
- another thread (B) starts processing qemuDomainAbortJob API
- thread B signals thread A via qemuDomainObjAbortAsyncJob
- thread B enters monitor (qemuDomainObjEnterMonitor)
- thread B calls qemuMonitorSend
- thread A awakens and calls qemuProcessStop
- thread A calls qemuMonitorClose and sets priv->mon to NULL
- thread B calls qemuDomainObjExitMonitor with priv->mon == NULL
=> monitor stays ref'ed and locked
Depending on how lucky we are, the race may result in a memory leak or
it can even deadlock libvirtd's event loop if it tries to lock the
monitor to process an event received before qemuMonitorClose was called.

After removing capability check for fd migration the code that was left
behind didn't make quite sense. The old exec migration would be used in
case when pipe() failed. Remove the old code and make failure of pipe()
a hard error.
This additionally removes usage of virCgroupAllowDevicePath outside of
qemu_cgroup.c.

Since we already have virtio channel events, we know when guest
agent within guest has (dis-)connected. Instead of us blindly
connecting to a socket that no one is listening to, we can just
follow what qemu-ga does. This has a nice benefit that we don't
need to 'guest-ping' the agent just to timeout and find out
nobody is listening.
The way that this commit is implemented:
- don't connect in qemuProcessLaunch directly, defer that to event
callback (which already follows the agent) -
processSerialChangedEvent
- after migration is settled, before we resume vCPUs, ask qemu
whether somebody is listening on the socket and if so, connect
to it.

When starting a qemu process there are certain checks done to ensure
that the configuration makes sense. Extract them into a separate
function so that they can be reused in the test code.
The virDomainObjFormat and virDomainSaveStatus methods
both call into virDomainDefFormat, so should be providing
a non-NULL virCapsPtr instance.
