The 'conflict' key in a virt_daemon_unit dictionary is not used when
generating systemd service and socket files. The comment associated
with the key claims the default is 'true', and a few build files
needlessly set it to 'true' when defining their virt_daemon_unit.
Remove the 'conflict' key and its use in the affect build files.

Back in commit 2c71d3826, which appeared in libvirt-1.2.3 in April
2014, the location used to store saved MAC addresses and vlan tags of
SRIOV VFs was changed from /var/run/libvirt/qemu to
/var/run/libvirt/hostdevmgr. For backward compatibility the code was
made to continue looking in the old location for the files when it
didn't find them in the new location.
It's now been 6 years, and even if there was somebody still running
libvirt-1.2.3 on their system, that system would now be out of support
for libvirt, so there would be no way for them to upgrade to a new
libvirt that no longer looks in "oldStateDir" for the files. So
let's no longer look in "oldStateDir" for the files!

The current virPCIDeviceNew() signature, receiving 4 uints in sequence
(domain, bus, slot, function), is not neat.
We already have a way to represent a PCI address in virPCIDeviceAddress
that is used in the code. Aside from the test files, most of
virPCIDeviceNew() callers have access to a virPCIDeviceAddress reference,
but then we need to retrieve the 4 required uints (addr.domain, addr.bus,
addr.slot, addr.function) to satisfy virPCIDeviceNew(). The result is
that we have extra verbosity/boilerplate to retrieve an information that
is already available in virPCIDeviceAddress.
A better way is presented by virNVMEDeviceNew(), where the caller just
supplies a virPCIDeviceAddress pointer and the function handles the
details internally.
This patch changes virPCIDeviceNew() to receive a virPCIDeviceAddress
pointer instead of 4 uints.

Since Xen 4.2 libxl expects device_model_override="/path" instead of
device_model="/path". Adjust the code to parse this as <emulator>.
While libxl also recognizes device_model_version="", this knob is not
required for libvirt. A runtime detection exists in libvirt to select
either "qemu-xen" or "qemu-xen-traditional".
Since qemu-xen-traditional is marked as supported just for stubdoms
there is no need to handle it.
Test data files with 'device_model' were adjusted to use
'device_model_override' instead.

This patch adds new schema and adds support for parsing and formatting
domain configurations that include vdpa devices.
vDPA network devices allow high-performance networking in a virtual
machine by providing a wire-speed data path. These devices require a
vendor-specific host driver but the data path follows the virtio
specification.
When a device on the host is bound to an appropriate vendor-specific
driver, it will create a chardev on the host at e.g. /dev/vhost-vdpa-0.
That chardev path can then be used to define a new interface with
type='vdpa'.

The refactoring in commit de49d5bad3 accidentally dropped the statement
setting def to NULL after successfully adding it to the virDomainObjList,
causing it to be freed while still in use. The resulting memory
corruption caused unpredictable behavior, often resulting in a libvirtd
crash.

When the xen driver loads, it probes libxl for some info about dom0 and
adds it to the virDomainObjList. The driver then looks for any domains
in stateDir and if they are still alive adds them to the list as well.
This logic is a bit flawed wrt handling driver reload and causes the
following error
internal error: unexpected domain Domain-0 already exists
A simple fix is to load all domains from stateDir first and then only
add dom0 if needed.

b_info->u.hvm.{acpi,apic} are deprecated. But also, on recent libxl
version (4.14) the old one seems to be broken. While libxl part should
be fixed too, update the usage here and at some point drop support for
the old version.
b_info->acpi was added in Xen 4.8
b_info->apic was added in Xen 4.10
Xen 4.10 is the oldest version that still has security support (until
December 2020).

Currently, we are mixing: #if HAVE_BLAH with #if WITH_BLAH.
Things got way better with Pavel's work on meson, but apparently,
mixing these two lead to confusing and easy to miss bugs (see
31fb929eca for instance). While we were forced to use HAVE_
prefix with autotools, we are free to chose our own prefix with
meson and since WITH_ prefix appears to be more popular let's use
it everywhere.

By default Xen only allows guests to write "known safe" values into PCI
configuration space, yet many devices require writes to other areas of
the configuration space in order to operate properly. To allow writing
any values Xen supports the 'permissive' setting, see xl.cfg(5) man page.
This change models Xen's permissive setting by adding a writeFiltering
attribute on the <source> element of a PCI hostdev. When writeFiltering
is set to 'no', the Xen permissive setting will be enabled and guests
will be able to write any values into the device's configuration space.
The permissive setting remains disabled in the absense of the
writeFiltering attribute, of if it is explicitly set to 'yes'.

There have been some reports that, due to libvirt always trying to
assign the lowest numbered macvtap / tap device name possible, a new
guest would sometimes be started using the same tap device name as
previously used by another guest that is in the process of being
destroyed *as the new guest is starting.
In some cases this has led to, for example, the old guest's
qemuProcessStop() code deleting a port from an OVS switch that had
just been re-added by the new guest (because the port name is based on
only the device name using the port). Similar problems can happen (and
I believe have) with nwfilter rules and bandwidth rules (which are
both instantiated based on the name of the tap device).
A couple patches have been previously proposed to change the ordering
of startup and shutdown processing, or to put a mutex around
everything related to the tap/macvtap device name usage, but in the
end no matter what you do there will still be possible holes, because
the device could be deleted outside libvirt's control (for example,
regular tap devices are automatically deleted when the qemu process
terminates, and that isn't always initiated by libvirt but could
instead happen completely asynchronously - libvirt then has no control
over the ordering of shutdown operations, and no opportunity to
protect it with a mutex.)
But this only happens if a new device is created at the same time as
one is being deleted. We can effectively eliminate the chance of this
happening if we end the practice of always looking for the lowest
numbered available device name, and instead just keep an integer that
is incremented each time we need a new device name. At some point it
will need to wrap back around to 0 (in order to avoid the IFNAMSIZ 15
character limit if nothing else), and we can't guarantee that the new
name really will be the *least* recently used name, but "math"
suggests that it will be *much* less common that we'll try to re-use
the *most* recently used name.
This patch implements such a counter for macvtap/macvlan, replacing
the existing, and much more complicated, "ID reservation" system. The
counter is set according to whatever macvtap/macvlan devices are
already in use by guests when libvirtd is started, incremented each
time a new device name is needed, and wraps back to 0 when either
INT_MAX is reached, or when the resulting device name would be longer
than IFNAMSIZ-1 characters (which actually is what happens when the
template for the device name is "maccvtap%d"). The result is that no
macvtap name will be re-used until the host has created (and possibly
destroyed) 99,999,999 devices.

Xen supports passing arbitrary arguments to the QEMU device model via
the 'extra' member of the public libxl_domain_build_info structure.
This patch adds a 'xen' namespace extension, similar to the QEMU and
bhyve drivers, to map arbitrary arguments to the 'extra' member. Only
passthrough of arguments is supported. Passthrough of environment
variables or capabilities adjustments is not supported.

There was a report on libvirt-users [1] about the domxml to/from
native converter in the Xen driver not handling PCI addresses
without a domain specification. This patch improves parsing of PCI
addresses in the converter and allows PCI addresses with only
bb:ss.f. xl.cfg(5) also allows either the dddd:bb:ss.f or bb:ss.f
format. A test has been added to check the conversion from xl.cfg
to domXML.

Most of our augeas files are generated during meson setup into build
directory and we were running augeas tests only for these files.
However, we have some other augeas and config files that are not
modified during meson setup and they are only in source directories.
In order to run tests for these files we need to provide different path
to both source and build directories.

Commit <2020c6af8a8e4bb04acb629d089142be984484c8> fixed an issue with
QEMU driver by reporting offline CPUs as well. However, doing so it
introduced a regression into libxl and test drivers by completely
ignoring the passed `hostcpus` variable.
Move the virHostCPUGetAvailableCPUsBitmap() out of the helper into QEMU
driver so it will not affect other drivers which gets the number of host
CPUs differently.
This was uncovered by running libvirt-dbus test suite which counts on
the fact that test driver has hard-coded host definition and must not
depend on the host at all.

libxlMakeNic was calling g_strdup(virBufferCurrentContent(&buf)) to
make a copy of the buffer contents, and then later freeing the buffer
without ever using it again. Instead of this extra strdup, just
transfer ownership of the virBuffer's string with
virBufferContentAndReset(), and be done with it.

There are several calls to virBufferFreeAndReset() when functions
encounter an error, but the caller never uses the virBuffer once an
error has been encountered (all callers detect error by looking at the
function return value, not the contents of the virBuffer being
operated on), and now that all virBuffers are auto-freed there is no
reason for the lower level functions like these to spend time freeing
a buffer that is guaranteed to be freed momentarily anyway.

QEMU allows creating NUMA nodes that have memory only.
These are somehow important for HMAT.
With check done in qemuValidateDomainDef() for QEMU 2.7 or newer
(checked via QEMU_CAPS_NUMA), we can be sure that the vCPUs are
fully assigned to NUMA nodes in domain XML.

The libxl driver has suffered an identity crisis since its introduction.
It took on the name 'libxl' since at the time libvirt already contained
a 'xen' driver for the old Xen toolstack implementation. 'libxl' is short
for libxenlight, which is often called xenlight. Unfortunately all forms
of the name are used in the libxl driver.
The only remaining use of the 'xenlight' form is when interacting with
the host device manager, which is difficult to change since it would
cause problems when upgrading the driver.
Rename the #define to make it clear the 'xenlight' form is internal and
add a comment describing why the name exists and that its use should be
discouraged.

The libxl driver declares its name as 'Xen' through the public
virConnectGetType() API. In the virHypervisorDriver table the name is
set to 'xenlight'. To add more confusion, the name is set to 'LIBXL'
in the virStateDriver. For consistency, use the same name in the driver
tables as reported in the public virConnectGetType() API.

Add support in the domXML<->native config converter for max_event_channels.
The parser and formater functions for max_grant_frames were reworked to
also parse max_event_channels. In doing so the xenbus controller is added
earlier in the config parsing, requiring a small adjustment to one of the
existing tests. Include a new test for the event channel conversion.

Commit 54a401af47 split out DriverConfigInit from DriverConfigNew, but
then called it a bit late from libxlStateInitialize. The cfg is used in
libxlDriverConfigLoadFile and when uninitialized results in a crash.
Calling DriverConfigInit immediately after DriverConfigNew fixes the
crash.

Some of the node device APIs are a little odd because they accept a
virNodeDevicePtr object but are still implemented by the virt drivers.
The first thing the virt drivers need to do is get the XML config
associated with the node device, and that means talking to the node
device driver.
This worked previously because with monolithic libvirtd, both the
virt driver and node device driver were in the same daemon and thus
a single virConnectPtr can talk to both drivers.
With the split daemon world though, the virNodeDevicePtr passed into
the APIs is associated with the QEMU driver virConnectPtr, which has
no ability to invoke APIs against the node device driver. We must thus
get a duplicate virNodeDevicePtr object which is associated with a
virConnectPtr for the node device driver.

Historically threads are given a name based on the C function,
and this name is just used inside libvirt. With OS level thread
naming this name is now visible to debuggers, but also has to
fit in 15 characters on Linux, so function names are too long
in some cases.

Ever since commit c5a00350 the libxl parser invokes the emulator
to probe which device model to use.
Commit b90c4b5 introduced a workaround that used a stable path
which was very likely to result in the answer matching the default.
However the test is still affected by the host state and the binary
gets invoked if present.
Mock the libxlDomainGetEmulatorType function to stop wasting CPU
cycles every time a 'make check' is run on a system with xen installed.
For example xlconfigtest gets faster by 90 %

This deletes all trace of gnulib from libvirt. We still
have the keycodemapdb submodule to deal with. The simple
solution taken was to update it when running autogen.sh.
Previously gnulib could auto-trigger refresh when running
'make' too. We could figure out a solution for this, but
with the pending meson rewrite it isn't worth worrying
about, given how infrequently keycodemapdb changes.

With Credit2 being Xen default scheduler, it's definitely the case to
allow Credit2's scheduling parameters to be get and set via libvirt.
This is easy, as Credit and Credit2 have (at least as of now) the very
same parameters ('weight' and 'cap'). So we can just let credit2 pass
the scheduler-type check and the same code will work for both.

The intent here is to allow the virt drivers to be run directly embedded
in an arbitrary process without interfering with libvirtd. To achieve
this they need to store all their configuration & state in a separate
directory tree from the main system or session libvirtd instances.
This can be useful for doing testing of the virt drivers in "make check"
without interfering with the user's own libvirtd instances.
It can also be used for applications using KVM/QEMU as a piece of
infrastructure to build an service, rather than for general purpose
OS hosting. A long standing example is libguestfs, which would prefer
if its temporary VMs did show up in the main libvirtd VM list, because
this confuses apps such as OpenStack Nova. A more recent example would
be Kata which is using KVM as a technology to build containers.

gmtime_r/localtime_r are mostly used in combination with
strftime to format timestamps in libvirt. This can all
be replaced with GDateTime resulting in simpler code
that is also more portable.
There is some boundary condition problem in parsing POSIX
timezone offsets in GLib which tickles our test suite.
The test suite is hacked to avoid the problem. The upsteam

Libvirt's original atomic ops impls were largely copied
from GLib's code at the time. The only API difference
was that libvirt's virAtomicIntInc() would return a
value, but g_atomic_int_inc was void. We thus use
g_atomic_int_add(v, 1) instead, though this means
virAtomicIntInc() now returns the original value,
instead of the new value.
This rewrites libvirt's impl in terms of g_atomic_int*
as a short term conversion. The key motivation was to
quickly eliminate use of GNULIB's verify_expr() macro
which is not a direct match for G_STATIC_ASSERT_EXPR.
Long term all the callers should be updated to use
g_atomic_int* directly.

Recently CPU hardware vendors have started to support a new structure
inside the CPU package topology known as a "die". Thus the hierarchy
is now:
sockets > dies > cores > threads
This adds support for "dies" in the XML parser, with the value
defaulting to 1 if not specified for backwards compatibility.
For example a system with 64 logical CPUs might report
<topology sockets="4" dies="2" cores="4" threads="2"/>

g_get_real_time() returns the time since epoch in microseconds.
It uses gettimeofday() internally while libvirt used clock_gettime
because it is declared async signal safe. In practice gettimeofday
is also async signal safe *provided* the timezone parameter is
NULL. This is indeed the case in g_get_real_time().

When using the monolithic daemon, then dom->conn has all driver
tables filled in properly and thus it's safe to call an API other
than virDomain*(). However, when using split daemons then
dom->conn has only hypervisor driver table set
(dom->conn->driver) and the rest is NULL. Therefore, if we want
to call a non-domain API (virNetworkLookupByName() in this case),
we have obtain the cached connection object accessible via
virGetConnectNetwork().

There is plenty of distributions that haven't switched to
systemd nor they force their users to (Gentoo, Alpine Linux to
name a few). With the daemon split merged their only option is to
still use the monolithic daemon which will go away eventually.
Provide init scripts for these distros too.
For now, I'm not introducing config files which would correspond
to the init files except for libvirtd and virtproxyd init scripts
where it might be desirable to tweak the command line of
corresponding daemons.

The NUMA cells are stored directly in the virCapsHostPtr
struct. This moves them into their own struct allowing
them to be stored independantly of the rest of the host
capabilities. The change is used as an excuse to switch
the representation to use a GPtrArray too.

The XML parser currently calls virCapabilitiesDomainDataLookup during
parsing to find the domain capabilities matching the triple
(virt type, os type, arch)
This is, however, bogus with the QEMU driver as it assumes that there
is an emulator known to the default driver capabilities that matches
this triple. It is entirely possible for the driver to be parsing an
XML file with a custom emulator path specified pointing to a binary
that doesn't exist in the default driver capabilities. This will,
for example be the case on a RHEL host which only installs the host
native emulator to /usr/bin. The user can have built a custom QEMU
for non-native arches into $HOME and wish to use that.
Aside from validation, this call is also used to fill in a machine type
for the guest if not otherwise specified. Again, this data may be
incorrect for the QEMU driver because it is not taking account of
the emulator binary that is referenced.
To start fixing this, move the validation to the post-parse callbacks
where more intelligent driver specific logic can be applied.

Our normal practice is for the object type to be the name prefix, and
the object instance be the first parameter passed in.
Rename these to virDomainObjSave and virDomainDefSave moving their
primary parameter to be the first one. Ensure that the xml options
are passed into both functions in prep for future work.
Finally enforce checking of the return type and mark all parameters
as non-NULL.

<interface> devices (virDomainNetDef) are a bit different from other
types of devices in that their actual type may come from a network (in
the form of a port connection), and that doesn't happen until the
domain is started. This means that any validation of an <interface> at
parse time needs to be a bit liberal in what it accepts - when
type='network', you could think that something is/isn't allowed, but
once the domain is started and a port is created by the configured
network, the opposite might be true.
To solve this problem hypervisor drivers need to do an extra
validation step when the domain is being started. I recently (commit
3cff23f7, libvirt 5.7.0) added a function to peform such validation
for all interfaces to the QEMU driver -
qemuDomainValidateActualNetDef() - but while that function is a good
single point to call for the multiple places that need to "start" an
interface (domain startup, device hotplug, device update), it can't be
called by the other hypervisor drivers, since 1) it's in the QEMU
driver, and 2) it contains some checks specific to QEMU. For
validation that applies to network devices on *all* hypervisors, we
need yet another interface validation function that can be called by
any hypervisor driver (not just QEMU) right after its network port has
been created during domain startup or hotplug. This patch adds that
function - virDomainActualNetDefValidate(), in the conf directory,
and calls it in appropriate places in the QEMU, lxc, and libxl
drivers.
This new function is the place to put all network device validation
that 1) is hypervisor agnostic, and 2) can't be done until we know the
"actual type" of an interface.
There is no framework for validation at domain startup as there is for
post-parse validation, but I don't want to create a whole elaborate
system that will only be used by one type of device. For that reason,
I just made a single function that should be called directly from the
hypervisors, when they are initializing interfaces to start a domain,
right after conditionally allocating the network port (and regardless
of whether or not that was actually needed). In the case of the QEMU
driver, qemuDomainValidateActualNetDef() is already called in all the
appropriate places, so we can just call the new function from
there. In the case of the other hypervisors, we search for
virDomainNetAllocateActualDevice() (which is the hypervisor-agnostic
function that calls virNetworkPortCreateXML()), and add the call to our
new function right after that.
The new function itself could be plunked down into many places in the
code, but we already have 3 validation functions for network devices
in 2 different places (not counting any basic validation done in
virDomainNetDefParseXML() itself):
1) post-parse hypervisor-agnostic
(virDomainNetDefValidate() - domain_conf.c:6145)
2) post-parse hypervisor-specific
(qemuDomainDeviceDefValidateNetwork() - qemu_domain.c:5498)
3) domain-start hypervisor-specific
(qemuDomainValidateActualNetDef() - qemu_domain.c:5390)
I placed (3) right next to (2) when I added it, specifically to avoid
spreading validation all over the code. For the same reason, I decided
to put this new function right next to (1) - this way if someone needs
to add validation specific to qemu, they go to one location, and if
they need to add validation applying to everyone, they go to the
other. It looks a bit strange to have a public function in between a
bunch of statics, but I think it's better than the alternative of
further fragmentation. (I'm open to other ideas though, of course.)

In this case, the virNetDevBandwidthPtr that is returned is not to a
region within the virDomainNetDef arg, but points elsewhere (the
NetDef has the pointer, not the entire object), so technically it's
not necessary to make the return value a const, but it's a bit
disingenuous to *not* do it.

Since virDomainNetGetActualVlan returns a pointer to memory that is
within the virDomainNetDefPtr arg, the returned pointer must also be
made const. This leads to a cascade of other virNetDevVlanPtr's that
must be changed to "const virNetDevVlan *".

It missed two functions in the hash table code which need
to call the alternate data free function, virHashRemoveEntry
and virHashRemoveSet.
After the previous patch though, there is no code that
makes functional use of the 2nd key arg in the data
free function. There is merely one log message that can
be dropped.
We can thus purge the current virHashDataFree callback
entirely, and rename virHashDataFreeSimple to replace
it.

Commit 5751a0b6b1 added a helper function
called virDomainCapsFeaturesInitUnsupported which initialized all domain
capability features as unsupported.
When adding a new feature this would initialize it as unsupported also
for hypervisor drivers which the original author possibly didn't intend
to modify. To prevent accidental wrong value being reported in such case
revert back to initializing individual features in the hypervisor
drivers themselves.
This is not a straight revert as additonal patches modified how we store
the capabilities.

The ordering of lock manager locks in the libxl driver has a flaw that was
uncovered by a migration error path. In the perform phase of migration, the
source host calls virDomainLockProcessPause to release the lock before
sending the VM to the destination host. If the send fails an attempt is made
to reacquire the lock with virDomainLockProcessResume, but that too can fail
if the destination host has not finished cleaning up the failed VM and
releasing the lock it acquired when starting to receive the VM.
This change delays calling virDomainLockProcessResume in libxlDomainStart
until the VM is successfully created, but before it is unpaused. A similar
approach is used by the qemu driver, avoiding the need to release the lock
if VM creation fails. In the migration perform phase, releasing the lock
with virDomainLockProcessPause is delayed until the VM is successfully
sent to the destination, which avoids reacquiring the lock if the send
fails.

The use of $(AUG_GENTEST) as a dependency in the makefiles is
a problem because this was assumed to be the filename of the
script, but is in fact a full shell command line.
Split it into two variables, so it can be correctly used for
dependencies.

Provide some consistency over error message variable name and usage
when saving error messages across possible other errors or possibility
of resetting of the last error.
Instead of virSaveLastError paired up with virSetError and virFreeError,
we should use the newer virErrorPreserveLast and virRestoreError.

Libvirt currently uses the VIR_AUTOUNREF macro for auto cleanup of
virObject instances. GLib approaches things differently with GObject,
reusing their g_autoptr() concept.
This introduces support for g_autoptr() with virObject, to facilitate
the conversion to GObject.
Only virObject classes which are currently used with VIR_AUTOREF are
updated. Any others should be converted to GObject before introducing
use of autocleanup.

Add the main glib.h to internal.h so that all common code can use it.
Historically glib allowed applications to register an alternative
memory allocator, so mixing g_malloc/g_free with malloc/free was not
safe.

gmem: clarify that g_malloc always uses the system allocator
Applications can still use custom allocators in general, but they must
do this by linking to a library that replaces the core malloc/free
implemenentation entirely, instead of via a glib specific call.
This means that libvirt does not need to be concerned about use of
g_malloc/g_free causing an ABI change in the public libary, and can
avoid memory copying when talking to external libraries.
This patch probes for glib, which provides the foundation layer with
a collection of data structures, helper APIs, and platform portability
logic.
Later patches will introduce linkage to gobject which provides the
object type system, built on glib, and gio which providing objects
for various interesting tasks, most notably including DBus client
and server support and portable sockets APIs, but much more too.

Libxl driver did not support setup additional acpi firmware to xen
guest. It is necessary to activate OEM Windows installs. This patch
allow to define in OS section acpi table param (which supported domain
common schema).

With the recent work in daemon split and socket activation
daemons can come and go. They can and will be started many times
during a session which results in objects being autostarted
multiple times. This is not optimal. Use
virDriverShouldAutostart() to determine if autostart should be
done or not.

We're using gnulib to get ffs, ffsl, rotl32, count_one_bits,
and count_leading_zeros. Except for rotl32 they can all be
replaced with gcc/clangs builtins. rotl32 is a one-line
trivial function.

In some places where virDomainObjListForEach() is called the
passed callback calls virDomainObjListRemoveLocked(). Well, this
is unsafe, because the former only grabs a read lock but the
latter modifies the list.
I've identified the following unsafe calls:
- qemuProcessReconnectAll()
- libxlReconnectDomains()
The rest seem to be safe.

All code using LOCALSTATEDIR "/run" is updated to use RUNSTATEDIR
instead. The exception is the remote driver client which still
uses LOCALSTATEDIR "/run". The client needs to connect to remote
machines which may not be using /run, so /var/run is more portable
due to the /var/run -> /run symlink.
Some duplicate paths in the apparmor code are also purged.
There's no functional change by default yet since both expressions
expand to the same value.

A libxl event with shutdown reason LIBXL_SHUTDOWN_REASON_SUSPEND
is sent after a domain is successfully suspended, which could result
from suspending the domain to file (virDomainSave), suspending it to
socket (virDomainMigrate), or suspending it to memory
(virDomainPMSuspendForDuration). Commit d00c77ae changed the event
handler to always set domain state to VIR_DOMAIN_PMSUSPENDED when
LIBXL_SHUTDOWN_REASON_SUSPEND is received. The causes a persistent
domain to show state "pmsuspended" after a successful migrate or save
operation. Revert the commit and ignore the suspend event as before.
This reverts commit d00c77ae45.

The virtxend daemon will be responsible for providing the libxl API
driver functionality. The libxl driver is still loaded by the main
libvirtd daemon at this stage, so virtxend must not be running at
the same time.
This naming is slightly different than other drivers. With the libxl
driver, the user still has a 'xen:///system' URI, and we provide it
in a libvirt-daemon-xen RPM, which pulls in a
libvirt-daemon-driver-libxl RPM.
Arguably we could rename the libxl driver to "xen" since it is the
only xen driver we have these days, and that matches how we expose it
to users in the URI naming.

When running in libvirtd, we are happy for any of the drivers to simply
skip their initialization in virStateInitialize, as other drivers are
still potentially useful.
When running in per-driver daemons though, we want the daemon to abort
startup if the driver cannot initialize itself, as the daemon will be
useless without it.

Instead of each subdir containing its own custom rule for checking the
augeas tests, use common rule for all.
The new rule searches both src + build dirs for include files, since
some augeas files will be auto-generated very shortly.

The augeas-gentest.pl program merges a config file into a augeas
file, saving the output to a new file. It is going to be useful
to further process the output file, and it would be easier if this can
be done with a pipeline, so change augeas-gentest.pl to write to stdout
instead of a file.

to make sure it gets the capabilities stored in the domain's private
data if the domain is running. Passing NULL may cause QEMU capabilities
probing to be triggered in case QEMU binary changed in the meantime.
When this happens while a running domain object is locked, QMP event
delivered to the domain before QEMU capabilities probing finishes will
deadlock the event loop.
QEMU capabilities lookup (via domainPostParseDataAlloc callback) is
hidden inside virDomainDeviceDefPostParseOne with no way to pass
qemuCaps to virDomainDeviceDef* functions. This patch fixes all
remaining paths leading to virDomainDeviceDefPostParse.

When we allow multiple instances of the driver for the same user
account, using a separate root directory, we need to ensure mutual
exclusion. Use a pidfile to guarantee this.
In privileged libvirtd this ends up locking
/var/run/libvirt/libxl/driver.pid
In unprivileged libvirtd this ends up locking
/run/user/$UID/libvirt/libxl/run/driver.pid
NB, the latter can vary depending on $XDG_RUNTIME_DIR

This function is calling public API virNetworkLookupByName()
which resets the error. Therefore, if

Our coding style specifies that only negative values are considered as
error. Check for return value of virDomainDiskInsert() properly,

The call to resolve the actual network type will turn any NICs with
type=network into one of the other types. Thus there should be no need

This adds a network model enum. The virDomainNetDef property
is named 'model' like most other devices.
When the XML parser or a driver calls NetSetModelString, if
the passed string is in the enum, we will set net->model,
otherwise we copy the string into net->modelstr
Add a single example for the 'netfront' xen model, and wire
that up, just to verify it's all working

The port allocation APIs are currently called unconditionally for all
types of NIC, but (mostly) only do anything for NICs with type=network.
The exception is the port allocate API which does some validation even
for NICs with type!=network. Relying on this validation is flawed,
however, since the network driver may not even be installed. IOW virt
drivers must not delegate validation to the network driver for NICs
with type != network.
This change allows us to report errors when the virtual network driver
is not registered.

Standardize on putting the _LAST enum value on the second line
of VIR_ENUM_IMPL invocations. Later patches that add string labels
