e1337ed0cc tests: Remove 's390-virtio' machine caps faking
The machine type was removed in qemu 2.6 and no tests now depend on it.
Remove the faking of the machine type support and the capabilities test
for it.

0dc45670f1 testQemuInfoSetArgs: Strip default machine alias only for 'latest' test cases
For the real-capabilities test cases testing 'latest' capabilities we
strip off the alias from 'pc' to the appropriate versioned machine type
to prevent update to all tests when bumping qemu capabilities.

Recenly we also started caching the capabilities to prevent re-parsing
the XML all the time. The commit adding the caching kept the alias
stripping prior to cache insertion, thus the cache contains the stripped
alias.

This leads to problem when a test case is added where the 'latest'
equals to the selected version.

Move the machine alias stripping after we create a local copy thus
stripping it only for 'latest' tests.

b4cbdbe90b qemu: Formally deprecate support for qemu < 2.11
As of May 7 2021, rhel-8 will be out for two years, which means we no
longer have to support rhel-7 ancient qemu.

QEMU versions in our supported distros:

 RHEL-8: 2.12
 Debian Stable: 3.1
 OpenSuse LEAP 15.0 (SLES15 GA): 2.11
 OpenSuse LEAP 15.2: 4.2
 Ubuntu (Bionic): 2.11
 Ubuntu (Focal): 4.2

This means we can bring up the minimum supported version to 2.11.

c8238579fb lib: Drop internal virXXXPtr typedefs
Historically, we declared pointer type to our types:

  typedef struct _virXXX virXXX;
  typedef virXXX *virXXXPtr;

But usefulness of such declaration is questionable, at best.
Unfortunately, we can't drop every such declaration - we have to
carry some over, because they are part of public API (e.g.
virDomainPtr). But for internal types - we can do drop them and
use what every other C project uses 'virXXX *'.

This change was generated by a very ugly shell script that
generated sed script which was then called over each file in the
repository. For the shell script refer to the cover letter:

9ec77eef2d qemuxml2argvtest: Test expected error messages
When an error is expected, the error message will be checked.
This is expressed by creating an additional ".err" file containing
the expected error message.

It is added in order to make sure the expected errors
are not masked by other errors during test execution while
leveraging the existing framework.

In order to keep it simple, an input file cannot be reused
anymore to cover several expected error cases configured
in the test code. An input file can still be reused by creating
a test case specific symlink.

For consistency, the mock needs to report an error now, too,
as every failure must have an error; otherwise a test case will
fail.

Require LC_ALL=C explicitly to make sure error messages are not
localized for testing.

66ce769d27 qemu: don't continue loading caps if outdated
The XML format used for QEMU capabilities is not required to be
stable across releases, as we invalidate the cache whenever the
libvirt binary changes.

We none the less always try to parse te entire XML file before
we do any validity checks. Thus if we change the format of any
part of the data, or change permitted values for enums, then
libvirtd logs will be spammed with errors.

These are not in fact errors, but an expected scenario.

This change makes the loading code validate the cache timestamp
against the libvirtd timestamp immediately. If they don't match
then we stop loading the rest of the XML file.

2e93af279a Revert "tests: Use qemu:///embed to simplify fakerootdir management"
Turns out that it's not enough to pass the qemu:///embed root to
virQEMUDriverConfigNew(), you also have to make sure the same
string is copied into the virQEMUDriver structure yourself, and
not doing so in our case resulted in the cleanup never happening
and in distcheck failing because of that.

On the other hand, actually setting config->embeddedRoot would
result in different paths being generated for each test run, which
would obviously break qemuxml2argvtest, so that's not an option
either.

This reverts commit d98cc1968e.

f00f4ea7b1 tests: Fix virQEMUDriverConfigNew() calling with respect to @root
The virQEMUDriverConfigNew() accepts path to root directory for
embed mode as an argument. If the argument is not NULL it uses
the passed value as prefix for some internal paths (e.g.
cfg->libDir). If it is NULL though, it looks if the other
argument, @privileged is true or false and generates internal
paths accordingly. But when calling the function from the test
suite, instead of passing NULL for @root, an empty string is
passed. Fortunately, this doesn't create a problem because in
both problematic cases the generated paths are "fixed" to point
somewhere into build dir or the code which is tested doesn't
access them.

068efae5b1 qemu: add support for running QEMU driver in embedded mode
This enables support for running QEMU embedded to the calling
application process using a URI:

   qemu:///embed?root=/some/path

Note that it is important to keep the path reasonably short to
avoid risk of hitting the limit on UNIX socket path names
which is 108 characters.

When using the embedded mode with a root=/var/tmp/embed, the
driver will use the following paths:

                logDir: /var/tmp/embed/log/qemu
           swtpmLogDir: /var/tmp/embed/log/swtpm
         configBaseDir: /var/tmp/embed/etc/qemu

       swtpmStorageDir: /var/tmp/embed/lib/swtpm
 defaultTLSx509certdir: /var/tmp/embed/etc/pki/qemu

These are identical whether the embedded driver is privileged
or unprivileged.

This compares with the system instance which uses

                logDir: /var/log/libvirt/qemu
           swtpmLogDir: /var/log/swtpm/libvirt/qemu
         configBaseDir: /etc/libvirt/qemu

       swtpmStorageDir: /var/lib/libvirt/swtpm
 defaultTLSx509certdir: /etc/pki/qemu

c4d6465aa7 tests: testQemuCapsIterate: Pass prefix and version to callback
Right now we're passing a "base" string that contains both,
separated by an underscore. Some changes that we're going to
introduce later will require us to have the version number on its
own, and instead of delegating the task of splitting the two apart
to the callback it make more sense to perform it upfront.

This change results in quite a bit of churn because we're now

Now that we know what metadata lock manager user wishes to use we

by adding new argument to virSecurityManagerNewDriver() and
subsequently to all functions that end up calling it.

The cfg.mk change is needed in order to allow lock_manager.h
inclusion in security driver without 'syntax-check' complaining.
This is safe thing to do as locking APIs will always exist (it's
only backend implementation that changes). However, instead of
allowing the include for all other drivers (like cpu, network,
and so on) allow it only for security driver. This will still
trigger the error if including from other drivers.

4fe4ffdbdf tests: Create full host NUMA topology in more cases
vircapstest has code to add a full host NUMA topology, that
is, one that includes all information about nodes and CPUs
including IDs; testQemuCapsInit(), which is used to create a
mock virCapsPtr for QEMU tests, however, just fakes it by
setting nnumaCell_max to some number.

While the latter approach has served us well so far, we're
going to need all the information to be filled in soon. In
order to do that, we can just move the existing code from
vircapstest to testutils and, with some renaming and
trivial tweaking, use it as-is.

Interestingly, the NUMA topology generated by the function
is rigged up so that the NUMA nodes aren't (necessarily)
numbered starting from 0, which is a nice way to spot
mistaken assumptions in our codebase.

useful support for host-model CPUs we really need a hypervisor's view of
the CPU. And since the view can be differ with emulator, qemu
capabilities is the best place to store the host CPU model.

This patch just copies the CPU model from host capabilities, but this
will change in the future.

0b7cf7f744 qemuxml2argvtest: Reorder CPU features
The x86 CPU driver translated each CPU definition from domain XML into

going to change, we need to reorder CPU features in a few test files to
make sure the generated QEMU command lines will not change.

8910e063db caps: Fix regression defaulting to host arch
My commit 747761a79 (v1.2.15 only) dropped this bit of logic when filling
in a default arch in the XML:

- /* First try to find one matching host arch */
-    for (i = 0; i < caps->nguests; i++) {
-        if (caps->guests[i]->ostype == ostype) {
-            for (j = 0; j < caps->guests[i]->arch.ndomains; j++) {
-                if (caps->guests[i]->arch.domains[j]->type == domain &&
-                    caps->guests[i]->arch.id == caps->host.arch)
-                    return caps->guests[i]->arch.id;
-            }
-        }
-    }

That attempt to match host.arch is important, otherwise we end up
defaulting to i686 on x86_64 host for KVM, which is not intended.
Duplicate it in the centralized CapsLookup function.

Additionally add some testcases that would have caught this.

27cf98e2d1 virCaps: conf: start splitting out irrelevat data
The virCaps structure gathered a ton of irrelevant data over time that.
The original reason is that it was propagated to the XML parser

This patch aims to create a new data structure virDomainXMLConf that

allow two things we need:

1) Get rid of the stuff from virCaps

2) Allow us to add callbacks to check and add driver specific stuff
after domain XML is parsed.

This first attempt removes pointers to private data allocation functions
to this new structure and update all callers and function that require

b1c88c1476 capabilities: defaultConsoleTargetType can depend on architecture
For S390, the default console target type cannot be of type 'serial'.
It is necessary to at least interpret the 'arch' attribute
value of the os/type element to produce the correct default type.

Therefore we need to extend the signature of defaultConsoleTargetType
to account for architecture. As a consequence all the drivers
supporting this capability function must be updated.

Despite the amount of changed files, the only change in behavior is
that for S390 the default console target type will be 'virtio'.

N.B.: A more future-proof approach could be to to use hypervisor
specific capabilities to determine the best possible console type.
For instance one could add an opaque private data pointer to the
virCaps structure (in case of QEMU to hold capsCache) which could
then be passed to the defaultConsoleTargetType callback to determine
the console target type.
Seems to be however a bit overengineered for the use case...

f7dd3a4e62 Add support for cpu mode attribute
The mode can be either of "custom" (default), "host-model",
"host-passthrough". The semantics of each mode is described in the
following examples:

- guest CPU is a default model with specified topology:
    <cpu>
      <topology sockets='1' cores='2' threads='1'/>
    </cpu>

- guest CPU matches selected model:
    <cpu mode='custom' match='exact'>
      <model>core2duo</model>
    </cpu>

- guest CPU should be a copy of host CPU as advertised by capabilities
  XML (this is a short cut for manually copying host CPU specification
  from capabilities to domain XML):
    <cpu mode='host-model'/>

  In case a hypervisor does not support the exact host model, libvirt
  automatically falls back to a closest supported CPU model and
  removes/adds features to match host. This behavior can be disabled by
    <cpu mode='host-model'>
      <model fallback='forbid'/>
    </cpu>

- the same as previous returned by virDomainGetXMLDesc with
  VIR_DOMAIN_XML_UPDATE_CPU flag:
    <cpu mode='host-model' match='exact'>
      <model fallback='allow'>Penryn</model>       --+
      <vendor>Intel</vendor>                         |
      <topology sockets='2' cores='4' threads='1'/>  + copied from
      <feature policy='require' name='dca'/>         | capabilities XML
      <feature policy='require' name='xtpr'/>        |
      ...                                          --+
    </cpu>

- guest CPU should be exactly the same as host CPU even in the aspects
  libvirt doesn't model (such domain cannot be migrated unless both
  hosts contain exactly the same CPUs):
    <cpu mode='host-passthrough'/>

- the same as previous returned by virDomainGetXMLDesc with
  VIR_DOMAIN_XML_UPDATE_CPU flag:
    <cpu mode='host-passthrough' match='minimal'>
      <model>Penryn</model>                        --+ copied from caps
      <vendor>Intel</vendor>                         | XML but doesn't
